Great free campsite in the pisgah national forest near blue ridge parkway. there is leveled space for about 3 small campers, more space for tents around the big firepit. no garbage service, pack your stuff out. we stayed at this exact spot, for more locations in the pisgah ranger district area, check this page (click on roadside camping):

Big enough spot for our 31 ft RV. There was enough space for car campers to use the site as well. Difficult road in the way in for large RV but definitely doable. Place was super quiet during the weekday but then got really busy on the weekend. Heard kids running around and screaming Saturday morning. Overall a beautiful site with lots to do in the area.
Report Check-InPull off
Not level but big
Lots of mountain bikers camped on this road
Parked jeep by the road, boulders there so we couldn’t bring the vehicle down to the site but close enough, maybe 30 yards off the road is the campsite. Fire pit, good trees for hammocks.
View is great during early spring with no leaves
Heard coyotes in the night not too far away
Report Check-InThis is authorized National Forest camping. However at least some of these campgrounds may be closed due to shitty humans who abuse resources.
Report Check-InWe drove up to it. Easy drive on our 24' sprinter van 2wd. Unfortunately the place was taken. Also, we did not have any Verizon signal.
Report Check-InReally nice place, authorized dispersed camping, fire pits, leveled parking with room for 3-4 RVs.
Close to the Looking Glass Rock Trail, which we recommend absolutely!!
Great area ,thick laurel’s, nice fire pits, has about three camp sights , one at entrance, second campsite has big parking lot for a lot of vehicles, third camp area sit really secluded and has a vehicle trail you can walk
Report Check-InGreat secluded campsite! Road was not bad at all to get up to the site, there’s a fire pit and room for probably 3 rigs as mentioned earlier. Make sure to pack your trash out so it remains!
