Uruguay
Close to Carmelo we found this old grocery store founded in the years 1900. They produce wine in the 5th generation and sell it together with other local products. The very friendly owner Diego allowed us to stay here overnight with the camper after a fine wine tasting (900 UPesos including food platter, enough for two). First class Bano open all night.

Really nice place! We had a wine tasting (5 wines) with cheese/meat platter. Afterwards 2 empanadas and a glass of wine. Beforehand we said that one of us had to drive and the owner offered us to stay in the vineyard. One of our best spots to spend the night so far in South America! We could use the toilet and cold shower as well. Everything for 2 persons for $110USD. Quite expensive but definitely worth it!
Report Check-Inabsolutely wonderful place with some surprising(ly) good wines, and the best lamb dish I had in years. the owners insisted we stay for the night at their property and made sure we had all we needed. Friendly dog accompanied us on a walk through the vineyard.
Report Check-InMuito acolhedor e o proprietário Diego e super simpático!
As duchas são quente e wc fica aberto à noite toda.
Bom Wi-Fi
Looked like a lovely place but for 900 pesos each we decided not to stay. For the price he said you get 6 different wines (and it's cheaper if you pay by card) .
Report Check-InHighly recommended. Absolutely lovely little winery with all kinds of goodies. Very kind owner. We didn‘t do the tasting (still some driving ahead), but it was nonetheless really nice.
Report Check-Inwent there a bit earlier (at 10 and they open at 11 am) but Diego was nice enough to open the store for us. he gave us a tour and let us walk a bit by ourselves thru the vineyard. cute. we both got the 900$ platter and degustation and it was perfect. the food was more then enough for us and the wine , liquor and grappa delish. at the end you as well get coffee. we ended up buying their tenant candy, honey grappa and the liquor. Diana was also very sweet and explained the wines very well. they accept credit cards. we enjoyed this place and recommend it.
Report Check-InAbsolutely worth the visit. Really friendly owners and we spend the afternoon there. In summer it is actually nice to visit.
