Description

On the dusty Carparking just before it goes down to the Grutas. Here we have stayed AFTER the Grutas because the ticket is valid until 19 o'clock. Then get out of the park and drive up here and stay for free. It was quite quiet when it got dark. Price: Free

Report Check-In

There are different locations available to sleep before the entrance of the grutas. The top parking lot is very big and probably ok to sleep. The locations of this one is a little lower and a little more away from the road. It is a little pull out. We slept here and was quiet and felt safe. Good sunrise and easy to get early to the grutas to get the place for yourself in the weekdays.

We arrived around 4pm and decided to stay here for the night. Beautiful view on the mountains. It's quite noisy until 9pm, then it's getting very quite! We had a good night. Felt safe. Good Telcel signal, had to use our levels. Good option to go to the grutas the day after. Don't miss the sunrise just in front of the spot!

You can stay in the park till the next day. When you leave before 8AM you get your money for ‘the next day’ back by giving your tickets at the entrada/salida gate. Very easy, no discussion. At least that are the rules today. Maybe check this is still the case. These tickets need to be undamaged as they reuse them.

Report Check-In

Overnight parking at the big bus parking lot before the road leads steeply down into the canyon. You are sleeping close to the road but traffic stops around 8 pm and starts at 7 am. The view into the canyon is nice. The parking lot is usable if you want to avoid paying one more day use fee of 150 Peso p.P.

Very good option to stay overnight. Bathrooms are clean and as said - open 24/7. Beautiful view over the valley.

Had a safe and quiet night here after leaving the Grutas around 6p. Parked on the far side next to the rock wall to avoid the tourist traffic and for a bit of wind protection. Beautiful sunrise. Tour buses did arrive early though, around 7a waking us up. Overall a good option if you want to avoid paying the extra day camping down by the river.

Left the Grutas around 8pm and stayed one calm night without issues;the night and the temperature was cool and fresh

Report Check-In

We left Las Grutas around 6:00 pm to we park on this huge parking allowing us to enjoy full of our day on the site. On week night very quiet.

Report Check-In

As described! Quiet night, a lot of traffic from 7 AM (on Saturday).

Totally fine to camp here either before or after the hotsprings! We arrived about 7pm and just went past the tourist info area where the guard booth is and the toilets and parked near the end of the lot. There is a gigantic light that they turn on, so put your shades down - and there was a dog that barked most of the night but it didn't bother me, just my husband. When you go to Las Grutas in the morning - TIP - if you want to soak first, drive down to the main gate where you pay, pay and make a UTurn, go back out of the gate and make a sharp left DOWN the hill towards las pozas thermales (thermal pools). Otherwise you'll continue down the road towards the campground, river, falls, and cave.

Traveling in truck camper and the descent down Into the gorge canyon was epic. Was nice to spend 1 night at bottom and drive out the next to avoid paying to camp.
The river is about 90 degrees and grutas around 100 Plenty of hiking to all the different parts of this resort and NEVER go on the weekend. Full 3G service at the bottom

This place worked great for me! Quiet at night, private enough if you park away from where the buses park, but like others said, once morning rolls around people start passing by in droves. I parked on the side with the cliff lookout, so I had people coming up next to my car to see the view, too. All were polite, but just be ready for guests if you park on that side of the lot.

Report Check-In
