Everything was frozen over when we came, including the slightly steep path to drive into the campground. Definitely 4 wheel drive necessary for the winter season. Still beautiful though!
Report Check-InThe lake is beautiful. If you come after the office hours be aware that the premium sites are marked with yellow pillars and are around $40. I accidentally stayed at a gorgeous premium site but did not mind the additional cost. The sites are very close to each other
Report Check-Ina great state park with full hookups only 16.00 for disabled, senior, military. very nice flat spots. picnic tables and fire rings. hot clean showers, play area, volleyball and amazing walking trails.
Report Check-InOff-season--basically had the whole campground to ourselves. Easy stop for a couple of nights while southbound on the Trace Parkway. Nice sites with concrete pads. Sites are narrow, but level . Good roads and trails. Quiet and very dark at night.
Report Check-InStopped here for a night while driving the Natchez Trace Parkway and car camped. $19 for a primitive campsite right in front of the water. There is laundry on site, but I came for the hot shower. The bathrooms were clean and air conditioned.
The Outcropping Trail was a fun and interesting hike. It was also cool just to explore the park.
