If you are in for real quite and peaceful nights and you have enough from neighboring midnight parties, trucks trucking all night, mosques, barking dogs and roosters waking you up, than go to this place. You will enjoy the relaxed camp site with it's beautiful coconut trees and nice pool.

This is a tropical little paradise. White sand, coconut trees and the sound of the waves at high tide ! A very neat camping area with good ablutions next to the nice pool and comfy bungalows on the beach (when you take a bungalow, big breakfast and 3 course yummie dinner are included). The restaurant is also available for campers. Beachchairs and beachtowels are provided : also for the camping guests. This is a place to relax and take long beachwalks. Wifi available upon request. Barry and Deo are very welcoming and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable ! We had a problem with the starter of our Defender and Benjamin, the in-house mechanic (sheltered workingplace) fixed the problem very professionally. We stayed 4 nights in a bungalow and really enjoyed it ! Very recommended for a tropical break by the ocean 🌴

A paradisiacal place right by the Indian Ocean. We were here by car with roof tent in 2022 and again in 2023. A place to relax from a safari, the hustle and bustle in cities, on the streets or to just end the journey. Here is the most beautiful and well-maintained resort between Saadani National Park and Tanga. Chalets, camping area, large and clean pool, restaurant with bar, the entire site under palm trees on continuous white, swept sand.
The place is not quick to reach, it just takes time, but the path is nowhere difficult to drive, four-wheel drive is not required. The approach from the south via the coastal road leads through the park and is subject to charges (Tanzania National Parks), the road from Mkata also leads through the park but is free of charge. This road is currently (2023) being expanded until a few kilometers before the turnoff to Sange.
The manager Deodatha, the owner Barry and the staff are exceptionally friendly and kind and fulfill every wish of the visitors. The food in the restaurant is great. Incomprehensibly, not many tourists find their way here; you often have the entire complex to yourself. We hope for Deo and Barry that this changes. Be patient if you do not get respond to inquiries immediately; a fast and continuous internet connection is not always available out here.
Thank you for the welcome and unforgettable days, may be there will be a third visit in 2024, you never know.

Amazing place. Awesome campsites just meters from pool and just infront of pool is the restaurant in bar, right on the ocean front. Ablutions - 2 showers and two toilets, absolutely perfect and great condition. Power at sites. Restaurant is very nice and tidy and an upstairs sitting area. They serve local beers and offered a 3 course dinner for 35,000s. Coconut trees through the whole campsite and restaurant. The most tropical campsite we have stayed at and Barry and Deodata and just lovely. This is a top camp spot and we have stayed at a lot. It was 12usd pp for camping and cabins were 85usd pp including breakfast and dinner. If you ask for wifi they will give it to you, very slow, good for essentials

We ended up at a beautiful spot with palm trees and white sand. (Pity then about the poor ablution facilities, 1 cold water shower & toilet for 4 spots, no washbasin for hands or teeth, nowhere for doing dishes.) But, we are not complaining and will stay for two nights, simply because the next spot is at least 5 hours drive away... the kids are enjoying the beach and today we will "shower in the sea" ;-) The beer is cold, so hey. They do good dinner for TZS 30000 pp. Laundry was TZS 30000 for a big bag (10/12kg). Wifi is only on in the evening for a couple of hours.

We stayed here for 2 very relaxed nights. As it was very hot we spend a lot of the time at the big pool and at the restaurant area, where the wind from the ocean keeps you a bit cooler😉

At the campsite are roofs for shade. Not a lot of shade for the car.

One evening we had dinner at the restaurant which was delicious! Barry, Deodatha and all the others are very welcoming, friendly and helpful!!

It is also possible to wash cloths in the washing machine (12kg) for 10000 tsh.

When we left we were also allowed to pick us a coconut 🤩.

All in all it was a great place!

Coming from the Usambaras we took the route via Muheza and Pangani, took the ponton ferry which cost 5.000 per car and 200 per person. The dirtroad was OK to drive. No problem. We left by using the dirtroad going south via Mkwaja and Mtaka, which can be a problem after heavy rains.
We actually wanted to camp, but decided to take a bungalow. Camping is still 10$ pppn and you can have dinner at the restaurant if you like and you can use the pool or relax at the beach. Because of the wind it is good that the campsite is further back. We had a look at the ablutions and they looked good. There are shelters, too. Nice quiet place. Recommended!

Had such a super 4 nights at Barrys. Lovely immaculate campsite with access to pool and restaurant which does delicous meals on request, just give notice. Deodatha and staff so wonderful and helpful. If you wanting peace and quiet this is rhe place foe you.

Beautiful stretch of the coast where Barry has his lodge. The campsite is away from the beach but you are out of the wind. Clean ambitions. This is a small piece of paradise away from it all.

This is not the actual location, but the hotel one is. Superb place, ablutions are now done. Camping place with a gazebo for shade. Not a lot of wind and impossible to put your car in the shade, so it does become hot. Price still $10 pppn

We just spent 5 fantastic nights at Barry's Beach resort. And we were very well looked after, Barry even organised twice some beautiful red Snapper for us and the whole crew is very friendly and helpful. But be aware, the campsite is not right on the beach, but all facilities as pool and restaurant can be used by campers. We decided to rent a beach front bungalow, fantastic view, fantastic veranda and interior. We can highly recommend this place for a long stay to relax.

Lovely sandy campsite, private from the rest of the resort. Bandas provide nice shade/rain protection. Beautiful property with a swimming pool and direct access to the beach- a perfect, quiet oasis.

Ablutions very clean but still under construction. Fresh water showers and tap- they even provide you with towels and soap!

Deodatha and owner Barry are very friendly and make you feel at home.

We paid $10pppn for camping (with coffee included in the morning). Breakfast/meals can be arranged via the restaurant/bar.

I just spent over a week in this place and it is paradise if you are looking for peace and quiet :) The camp site here can take up to 6 vehicles and you can either put a ground tent or use the roof top one if you have one. There are 2 showers and 2 separate toilets at disposal. The price was per night per person with breakfast included for 25 USD.
I asked the owner to visit the bungalows and they are amazing! 2 of them are directly on the beach as is the resort's restaurant. The food is great and tasteful and the staff extremely helpful and nice. Barry always had a moment to talk with us in the evening and has plenty of amazing stories to tell :) If you are around this place and want to visit paradise don't hesitate !!!
