If you get the chance to stay with Zuga at his house, it will most probably be the best experience of your whole trip!!

Zuga is an incredible host and defenitly one of the most welcoming and friendly person we ve ever met.
We contacted him from Botswana when we still werent sure if we should visit Zimbabwe, and he convinced us that Zim is great. Later, he picked us up at the bus station, went with us to matobo national park for free and even brought us to harare. Especially the day in matobo with him was very special as he was 30 years a guide there and we explored the NP and its caves with him like it would not have been possible with anyone else.
In the end we stayed 1 Week instead of the planned 2 nights.

Zugas House is spacious, bright with a great garden & a stylish interior. From the very moment you feel at home in the clean and friendly rooms (maybe ask for the rooms inside the house, they are really awesome).

Generally Zimbabwe could not have surprise us more. We have travelled Africa a lot, especially the east and also south & its fair to say that Zimbabweans are the most friendly people we have encountered so far. We travelled by public transport and buses as well as minibuses in bulawayo were ok and overall we always felt 100% safe. Most surprisingly: No one is asking for money or anything!(except in victoria falls which is a city which nothing in common with the rest of the country)

we camped 3 nights in our campervan in Zuga's garden (can fit 2 to 3 cars). Zuga is an amazing host, he helped us in many ways (finding an iveco computer for our injection system, changing money, giving precious tips to visit the country...). we highly recommend this place to camp !

Zuga has a really nice homestay, where you will feel at home! We could camp on the grass in his big garden and used the toilet block outside the house. Nice hot shower with very good pressure! He has a cosy kitchen where you can cook you're meal and eat it with him or other guest! It is the meeting area of the house. He has 4 cats and a nice dog named Blush. Quiny is a very, very nice lady that does the cleaning and she will make you smile!

Zuga helped us to get eco-cash and bond so we could do our shoppings cheaper. He can also give you lots of advice for traveling of the beaten track in Zim!

We highly recommend this place!

Report Check-In

Thanks Zuga!!

He asked for $35 for two of us for two nights in a private room. Much less than any other hostel or hotel we found and good value.
