Instead of taking the road 1 and 4 from Asuncion to Pilar you can take this much more fun and adventourus road which goes through Villa Oliva and Villa France. There's some awesome dirt roads coming from north going through small villages which eventually ends at this river. The boat costs 20.000 for a motorbike don't know how much for car. The maps says it's not possible, but it was for us! It is very small so only possible to take one car and a few motorbikes at a time. On the southern side the roads are full of sand, interesting driving on a motorbike there. Would probably only take this road in a 4wd or a motorbike, but locals do it in less. Enjoy!

Now there is NEW!!! bridge to cross the river. Paved road is continued to Pilar from this bridge. However there is unpaved, dirt road(we doubt is it a real road?) from Alberdi to here. WARNING: it’s possible to stuck inside easily. 4WD is strongly recommended. Many birds can be observed near Pilar enough(not only that area). So if it’s wet, don’t take this road.
