Description

Please note there is now a reception office and admission fees to see the mountain. Day visitors are $60 per person plus $80 for the car. If you'd like to camp overnight, the fee is $210 per person and there is no additional fee for the car or for the visit. So really, it makes more sense to camp here if you're going to visit and also need a place to spend the night. There is also a bar and restaurant. And obviously the mountains themselves that you can walk around. (In May 24 still the same).

ONLY Entrance to the Spitzkoppe NP at the moment. Really beautiful, but always hot, because of the Sun. Bring enough water, even when you drive a lot through the NP.
You get a Plan at the entrance gute. with all interesting points and the different campsite's.
Prices: 130N$ day visitors
210N$ for overnight camping (if you come early, you have almost 2 full days in the NP for that price, because you only have to leave the next day until gate closing time).

This is definitely a very beautiful place. Sometimes a bit crowded also, because of the tourist but at dawn and dusk it's amazing!

The campsites are spreaded along the mountains and most of them have latrines close by. Toilets and showers can only be found at the reception.

Prices still the same: 120 day visit. 210 camping (daily fee included.)

It's a very very nice experience

Drove to the parking area where you pay, then just walked around and climbed on the nearby rocks to get some nice views of the peaks. Nobody asked us for any money :) Obviously not the full Spitzkoppe experience but still fun.

Agree with JTraveller, you pay a lot for not so much. If you are not sleeping inside the park and are not planing to do the "guided things" (wich you need to pay extra for), its pointless to pay the "daily use" fee. Its what we did and we regreted it. Better to stick to the piste how goes around the fence, you will have pretty much the same view as inside... The site is beautiful with those nice red rock formations but at the end it just feels like a very overpriced camping with no facilities. Unless you are desperate for an Instagram picture with your RTT, there is almost no point sleeping there.
The "Spitzkoppe bonus" is all those kids on the way to the gate, beeing "employed" by their parents to sell cheap ugly local crafts while they should be in school !

Spitzkoppe Campsites now 210ppn to camp. Dayvisitor 120ppn.
The rock formation is beautiful but it is heavily overprized for what they offer on the camp sides. Again, you just pay a lot to see nature.
And you pay multiple times. Entring camp, you can not see some areas without a guide (painting) where you need to tip. Back side is another camp where you need to pay. Pay pay pay.

Camped at Spitzkoppe Rest Camp for 1 night, N$190 pp per night and you dont pay park fees if camping. Big camp sites that are spread out so you don't hear anyone else. No electricity or water available. Only dry toilets available but they are in good condition and clean. The park is amazing, stunning scenery. Restaurant, bar and showers at reception. Certain areas require guided tours, there is no set fee you just tip the guide.
The village right outside Spitzkoppe is very short on water, and they go up to 4 months before water is delivered by truck . If you're passing by and have spare water, fill their bottles please. The locals and kids have their own containers

Great wild camp experience under the rock faces. Individual camps very far apart, so great feeling of serene isolation. No water or electricity just drop toilets, but good shower, kitchen, toilets at the main reception -dont need more than that.
There is a restaurant and bar at reception, limited network access at reception
Overall great experience - not forgetting self and guided hikes to rock tops, caves, art

It wasn't clear for us reading the previous comment, but this is actually the entrance of the Spitzkoppe conservancy area. We went there as "day visitor" as we found a lovely wild camp outside the park (see the "nice view on Spitzkoppe" point).
In april 2021, we paid (probably covid prices ?)
- $50/adult
- $50 for the car
- $30 for children between 6 and 12

Enter fees , for one night at the campsite, are : 190$N / adults (>12 years old), 130$N / children 12<6 years old , and free< 6years old.

campsite is 190 /pppn. No other fees if you take a campsite.
rustic campsite but very nice for the place, the view.

Report Check-In

there is no access to the park unless you have reservations at the lodge - they would not allow us to drive inside. you can at the South entrance enter the conservation area.

Report Check-In

Apparently this is a public road and you can just drive in on it to see the mountain without paying for a day pass if you just drive past reception without stopping. We haven't tried but met others who did.
