Asked for 100 pesos .. gave the only small bill we had plus coins .. they let us go, no problem.

We were heading south and locals are still asking for money. They are farmers whose lands were expropriated by the company that built the highway (owned by Carlos Slim) but haven’t been paid for it. We offered them 200 pesos but they only took 100. Very nice people.

Went through this as well. They threw the rope across and asked for 100 pesos. I just shook my head and told them I was coming through. They got out of the way. There’s another one down the road, too. Just rolled through it without stopping. Probably easier to dodge on a motorcycle than a truck

Abounded toll Station,now used by locals to fill there pockets. They asked for 100 pesos, but we gave them 50 pesos and they let us pass.
