We were heading south and locals are still asking for money. They are farmers whose lands were expropriated by the company that built the highway (owned by Carlos Slim) but haven’t been paid for it. We offered them 200 pesos but they only took 100. Very nice people.
Report Check-InWent through this as well. They threw the rope across and asked for 100 pesos. I just shook my head and told them I was coming through. They got out of the way. There’s another one down the road, too. Just rolled through it without stopping. Probably easier to dodge on a motorcycle than a truck
