This is one of our favorite place to camp here in BC. This week is our fourth time this year camping. So magical

Report Check-In

A nice quiet place to camp on the last weekend of February. People were ice fishing. Campsites all around the lake. No fee year round. Cows and elk are common.

Report Check-In

Camping all around the lake, outhouses and picnic tables. Good gravel road access.

Report Check-In

amazing free place for any size rig with easy and smooth access on a good gravel road. amazing for star gazing. we could see the milky way at a clear, dark night, and wolves were howling.

Absolutely beautiful, peaceful and love the cattle! Arrived on a Wednesday and very few campers were here. This is a hidden jem. We'll probably stay for a few nights.. Lake is warm enough to take a swim. Thank you for sharing this spot with us. Roads were rough coming into campsites. Slow and Steady and you'll make it.

Amazing free campsite!
Stunning lake with mountains.
Pit toilets are a little smelly, don’t forget to bring your own toilet paper!
Sites all around lake, waterfront is the best!
Will be back :)

perfect place and also accessible year round. Don't forget to take your garbage out again

We stayed here 2 nights. Lots of spots all around the lake. Road is in good condition, we are in a class c motorhome. Big rigs can camp up top easily. Toilets all around the lake. Cows grazing all around. Lake was very nice to swim/paddle.
There was lots of people but all spread out, it was still pretty quiet at night.
Toilets were pretty smelly where we where, but we went for a walk around the lake and used another toilet there and it was fine.
Great spot!

Absolute paradise. We have been here for 2 weeks which is the limit though the locals said you can stay longer if you change sites. It was busy on July 1st with fireworks and a healing festival in the backwoods with DJs, kids and dogs were welcome. super cool vibe ❤️ We got a spot right beside the lake because we need the sun for solar but had to move to higher ground as the lake is ground fed and with the late spring it has doubled in size since we got here. Had a skunk rummage through our recycling the other night and woke up to about 100 cattle grazing all around us yesterday. It's clearly mating season so they screamed and mooed all day but are beautiful and as long as we stayed close to the rig we had no issues though one took out a guyline. Pretty spring flowers and flowing long grass meadows with thousands of little blue damsel flies.

Very nice user maintained campground surrounding a small lake The road out to the turn of is paved and in great condition The dirt road into the camp sites is rough but it appears many large rigs are able to get in here. We arrived July 1st so holiday weekend and the place is very full . Someone offered up a spot she had been holding for friends who were not coming so we were lucky but I think we could have parked our van in multiple places for just one night. Bigger rigs might have had more of a problem as those spots were definitely taken

We're back! Even more scenic now - with a dusting of fresh snow on the mountains. Still a few folks here.

CBC at 101.3

Horseshoe Tarn. We had two very nice days here. We even had a pretty good fireworks display from across the lake - folks celebrating something or other. Other than that, dead quiet at night.

A dozen or so pit toilets spread out around the lake - ours well kept.

CBC at 101.3.

What a beautiful paradise, so many spots and beautiful views of the mountains. The road can be rough in places, but well worth the effort. We stayed 5 nights, weather was amazing, lake was like glass, caught a trout, canoed, paddle boarding, biking, hiking up the mountain to the 2 falls. Totally amazing.

Great spot but quite busy on the last weekend of summer. Lots of space available but finding a reasonably level one was a bit of a challenge.

Report Check-In

Arrived late evening, road is a bit bumpy but was fine in a van (GMC Savana). Woke up to beautiful mountains and a shimmering lake. Gorgeous! Semi-populated, stayed for just one night but can stay up to 14 cause it's crownland. Has outhouses. Very quiet and clean.

Report Check-In

Beautiful small lake, sites as well as Wild camping. Easy access off paved road.

Best of the best is down at far end of lake :)

Wow. AMAZING spot. Very wide and open, plenty of spots around the lake and into the surrounding forest. There were plenty of people already set up when we arrived but had no trouble finding a spot. Looming mountain range above made for the perfect cup of coffee in the morning. Despite the many people, it was fairly quiet (if you don't count the atvs zooming around the trails). Stayed there an extra night because... we had to. Too beautiful. Thanks for the recommendation!

I loved the place, it's very peaceful with the mountain on one side.

User maintained recreational site. Lots of pit toilets, pretty awesome place in terms of concept but not much to look at, we didn’t swim in the lake because it looked gross, but some kids were.

Beautiful location. Figured it may be a little busy being a Sunday in high season and it was. Most of the spots on the lake were taken but after a little exploring on the side roads found an awesome spot up above next to a large meadow. Very quiet, no neighbors.

Dang nice views, likely very busy on weekends. Some spots better than others if you’re okay bumping down a few roads!

Great place, so beautiful and lots of space! It was pretty crowded but we were still able to find a nice spot! There are picnic tables and pit toilets all around the area.
