Something not right?

Description

Beautiful location next to the river and on the lush valley floor (grass!). Supposedly used on weekends by locals for asados, but on a Monday in April we had the place completely to ourselves. Straw huts and bbqs are provided, 3 cold showers and 3 toilets, port-a-potty style. We paid 5.000 pesos for 2 people, a tent and 2 bicycles.

Latest Check-Ins

We really liked this place. After a couple days of driving and wildcamping in Northern Chile we could relax here. We were the only guests on this huge property with beautiful autumn colors. Parked right next to the river and the ground keeper made us a fire after sunset.

Might be wise to whatsapp before you go in the off season. We paid $20.000 which is steep but worth it after a coupe of days camping for free.

The name of the camping is Bordestero. The camping has a big red gate. You can communicate with them at +56 9 7917 2021 for whatsapp. It's a clean place with a natural concept. Drinkable water and WC. You can charge your mobile phone in a dedicated area.

Nice campground, with covered sites and small shop.

Camping has a different name (sign on the road down to the river)

Report Check-In

Really nice place at the river with good facilities: benches, tables, shades, bbq, good WC and shower block, playground. Locals can come here for picnics. Day use and Camping 5000 Pesos/Person
Seems like the place changed its name because there is no sign „Catemu“

Arrived mid afternoon in a Sunday. Many local enjoying river and bbq. Shade and plenty of space. They deliberated on the price and only charged as for the night camping
$4000 CLP for 2 & not additional for day use.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite with windshielded and shadowy spots. When we were there it was quite windy in the afternoon, but completely no wind after 8pm. Seems like it usually gets less windy in the afternoon/evening.

Price was 4500 per person (you pay part of it for day time use and part for camping).

Also useful to know is that they shut the gate at (in our case) 8pm. After that time you cannot (without going through a fence) enter/exit the site. They do provide a phone number for emergency.

We had the whole campsite to ourselves.

Correction: we paid 9.000 pesos. Charcoal is available for 2.000. Toilets and showers are clean btw. Nelson the owner is an amazing guy who gave us avocados, walnuts and offered to get us anything we need from the nearest kiosk. Recommended!
