There is a parking lot here where you can stay for the night. There’s a really nice view of the badlands and you can hike in the canyon.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Exactly as described, beautiful place!
If it rains/rained, be careful on the grass and trails as it's very muddy (clay).
We attempted to stay here but the wind was fierce. It is a beautiful spot on a calm day, but if the wind picks up you’re in for a fun night!
Report Check-Inwhaouuu seul au monde. nuit tranquille un peu de vent. chiens de prairies sur le site . Le lendemain ballade. Meilleur point de vue jusque là.
Report Check-InGreat spot with a nice view on the canyon! We were 4-5 rv/vans to camp there! A couple of cars came during the evening to hang out, a little noisy with music but no trouble. We enjoyed or night there!
Report Check-InSuch a nice place !! calm, no noise of any kind. Saw three or four cars coming for sundown nd that was all. we were alone in that big parking. No sign of anyking for parking overnight.
May get windy a bit...
Only a parking lot at the overlook, nice view but no trails into the canyon or anywhere else, very visible from the street and busy during the day. No privacy at all.
Report Check-Inincredible place! sunset was beautiful! touristic during the evening but alone with another van after 7pm! pit toilets, and good cell service! I would definetly recommend!
Report Check-Ingood spot for a night, really quiet only one other VR was there. Chilly night at -1°!
cabin toilets available but not really clean
Report Check-Injust perfect, nice sunset, nice sunrise, some other campers, unfortunately with generator, normaly absolutly quite, no Light polution, only moon and stars, trails to canyon, no forbitten sign, dont feed wild animals like americans often do
Report Check-InNous y avons passé une très bonne nuit. Nous étions 2 cc et 2 voitures. Lieu très propre et magnifique. Nous recommandons.
Report Check-InBeautiful canyon. Spent one night with one other rv and a couple with a tent in the back of their truck. Really quiet and no problems. Would recommend staying here. Sunset is beautiful but remember bug spray
Report Check-InSuperbe place ! Seuls au monde (appart un photographe de l’état de Washington) avec un coucher de soleil extraordinaire 🤩
Report Check-InSlept here with one other camper and a car. Got to enjoy a great view of the canyon during sunset.
No one woke us up but was VERY windy.
No “no overnight camping/parking” to be seen and the blocks were removed to the side by a sea container and ice cream truck.
Closed at the moment with concrete blocks. You can still admire the view which is really beautiful.
Report Check-In11/10 location, PLEASE KEEP CLEAN AND LEAVE IT BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT!
Beautiful short drive between town and Horse Thief Canyon. Amazing view from the parking spot. Large flat concrete area. Big rig friendly. Could find a tent spot no problem, though it's probably busy in the summer. Please be respectful - take only pictures, leave only footprints. Keep this amazing free lookoff point open and free for others to enjoy.
Fantastic view of the canyon, especially for the sunset. Large parking lot accommodating a few « tenants ». Fairly level. No sign prohibiting overnight stays. Garbage cans on site but no toilet.
Report Check-InGot here just on sunset, very level, & a couple spots to pitch a tent, if you're careful. Can be very muddy off the pavement, so drive carefully, & don't wear fancy shoes! ;)
Stayed here last night. Just like everyone else has said. Had 1 other family stay here as well.
Gets peaceful after sunset.
Highly recommend.
Stayed for one night. There was about 5 other vans that stayed. Really nice spot with a great view. Feels very open but can barely see the parking lot from the road. Incredibly quiet and can’t beat the views! Will likely have people visiting until sunset and early in the morning.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot. We stayed the night there. we met amazing people doing the same thing
Report Check-InGreat views!.Valley was filled with mist early morning. Parking lot has a slope, need levelling blocks. We came via Munson, about 6 km good gravel road.
Report Check-InBeautiful views of the canyon. Stayed one night with no issues. Lots of people here for sunset but very quiet after that. Shared the lot with two other campers.
Report Check-InWe arrive from the north (Edmonton) and we we had to go thru 12km of gravel road. If it would not have been so late (22:30) I would have looked for another way to reach it.
When we got there, was too dark to see around. But when we woke up in the morning, what a great view. I would have like tonbe there for the sunset that is surely amazing. We were the only people to sleep there. Really quiet.
I stayed just one night there, arrived at the sunset time, it was just amazing. The view is stunning, it's quiet, you just hear the coyotes and birds. Plenty of room, we were 5 vans.
Just as reminder, it's just a parking, no tables, bench, toilet.
Beautiful place to stay for a night. Woke up to a beautiful sunrise lighting up the canyon. Lots of room to park. People came and went until around 8. Couple other cans staying the night at this location. No toilets or anything but definitely worth the view!
Report Check-InBeautiful view. Had some locals show up late into the night and some tourists in the morning. Get a little highway noise but worth it to wake up with the view.
Report Check-InAwesome spot to camp for the night. No signs to say you can't camp here. There were 2 other cars with us also. Overlooks the beautiful Horsethief Canyon. Very quiet and peaceful area. No toilets.
Report Check-InStopped by to check it out and take some pictures. I did not stay overnight. No prohibiting signage as of Oct 1, 2019 but that could change anytime. A bit close to the main road so you will get some road noise. Beautiful spot to go explore the canyon.
Report Check-InArrived at 3pm and stayed one night. Not much to do but exploring the canyon which was fun! We were the only van parked there overnight with everyone gone by 6pm. We had the whole place to ourselves for the sunset and got up early to have coffee and watch the sun rise. It was truly magical!! The view was spectacular and it was very quiet and peaceful. There was a faint bad smell which seemed to be coming from some pipes sticking out of the grass nearby. Just stay away from those and you’ll have a great time!
Report Check-InPulled in at night, couple other vehicles camped out, beautiful view to wake up & stretch to! Wake up for sunrise :) More tourists didn't start rolling in until about 8:30 - Portable Toilets were locked .. probably only for people coming for the construction equipment on site?..
Report Check-InYes! Nice level dark parking lot that is a vista point for the canyon. As others have said, it appears to be OK to park here! There is no signage to the contrary and no one bothered me.
