Stayed one night here at the Tehachapi Mountain Park. Vary quite place. Lots of nice pine trees. We were the only people camping. A few locals came through to hike on a nearby trail, otherwise quite. Some spots can handle larger vehicles, but a few of the roads are steep. We got our large 21' Unimog camper up to a camp spot neat the top, so it is doable. Paved roads. Pit toilets. Not a bad spot in the spring. It gets snow for sure sometimes in the winter. Over 30 camps spots.

County park up in a canyon. There are bathrooms but not sure about them since they were not open yet. Still too cold . $18 self pay. very quiet and away from freeway.
Report Check-InClean bathrooms and semi leveled camp sites. Lots of bird and critters.
Report Check-Inour story.
don't go here. cops called. drunks, sketchy people, bad vibes. had to call sheriff's on demestic assault in the campground. barely escaped two dog attacks by climbing in rooftop tent.
worst night of camping ever. we are now in a hotel.
Report Check-InDefinitely an $18/night campground for Kern County. And it’s CLOSED FOR THE SEASON.
However, there are pit toilets with parking where I camped for the night for free. It was peaceful and nobody bugged us. Got in at 9 pm and left at 6 am.
