beautiful spot in the mountains next to the river. Unfortunately you are visible from the road. But there are only a few cars and we had a quiet night.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Lots of nice river campsites next to the road.. all the busses leave the rainbow mountains at 2ish so we showed up at four and had the whole place to ourselves. Sites are easily seen from the road but very little traffic and those who did pass by just waved.
Report Check-InNice spot. Flat enough pull out between the river and the road. River is really pretty in the canyon here. Quiet night with nobody driving by until 6am, and then nobody until 7am. We left camp to drive up to Polccoyo and only saw 1-2 colectivo type tourist vans and a few small cars. Polccoyo was well worth the journey.
Report Check-InLevel and quiet place to spend a night. The road is narrow and bumpy but we managed in our truck camper, even getting there in the dark. Nice sounds of river flowing. It took us about an hour to drive to the start of Palccoyo the next morning. Got there at 7:30 on a Monday and there were only three small groups hiking. Beautiful area!
Report Check-InThe Polccoyo rainbow mountains have become more famous over the years. Even after the pandemic with only few foreign tourists approx 15-20 minibuses passed in the morning. Nevertheless a perfect spot to stay before / after the visit. We stayed 2 nights.
Report Check-InGreat spot to stay at night. The first collectivo passes exactly at 7:30. 😁 If you start at around 8:00 you‘ll have a perfect day. It takes one hour up.
Report Check-InBeautiful and quiet spot. Bumpy, steep and narrow road to get here but we made it in our 2wd van and had no problems even after rain.
Report Check-Invery nice place next to the river - we arrived after midnight- easy to find.
Report Check-Infirst collectivo transit passed by here at 7.30am.
no need to rush. between 7.30 and 8.00am there were 7 collectivos.
few people for such a big area to explore!
ideal time to leave this spot is 8.00am to get amazing pictures.
we had a quiet night
Quiet place, close to the road. We stayed 1 night, before to go at palcoyo mountain
