Description

Parking in Gettysburg city park area. Signage posted says 3-day limit, also there's an iron ranger for donation (though this is not solicited). There's 2 steel fire pits, a covered area with benches, restrooms, Showers, and a soda (pop) vending machine. There's potable and nonpotable water spigots, a dumping station, and full 20a/30a/50a electrical hookups. All in all, good for passing through SD. All services available in the town.

Well-maintained city facilities which include a bath house, a pavilion and the 3 RV sites. We had 4 rigs last night so there is room for more RVs if they don't need to plug in.

Lovely location with all the amenities. It’s going to rain tonight so we’ve pitched our tent under the picnic shelter.

Great spot to charge the batteries, get a shower and wait out the rain showers! I would recommend to anyone passing through the area. Great Verizon service.

We generally try to get through South Dakota as fast as we can. I have a long history with this state and little that I remember that was good.

This spot is is a fine stopover, the bar down the street was friendly and a nice diversion. The massive class 1 pulling both a class 2 and a car next to us had the noisest AC system known to man. That's not a slam on this location, just one against staying in any town or developed location (that's you too Walmart).

There's a line that can be drawn North and South at the Wyoming/South Dakota from top to bottom of the continent, where east of, it becomes more difficult to find a place to stop for the night. Small town city parks are often the best bet, but they are still towns, with all the noise, lights, drunks, and lack of privacy.

This spot is fine, and I'm glad that it exists, but I wish there were more public lands available. Just my rant for the day.

As described by others. A welcome stop after several hours of flat straight roads. Everything is clean and better than expected. 5:30 pm and one other camper.

Nice place. Loads of lawn, covered sand pit for the kids. Ballpark actually. Walking distance to fun bar - Mugs. Within the city limits. Park East - west. Donation tube.

Showers, here are Showers. Oh how I needed them! sort of 100° outside. the rest is as described from the other guests.

This spot was amazing. At first glance on the app we looked over this place, but decided to check it out... amazing. Cheap (donation) for a spot with electricity... and water... and dump... and a fire pit... and a covered dining pad... and a nice baseball/football field w/ disc golf baskets... and SHADE! Really nice for a small donation. it was a nice to "recharge the batteries" (pun intended). IF we are ever back near Gettysburg, SD (I HIGHLY doubt it) I would 100% stay again. All towns should offer this service... We bought gas. We would have bought breakfast, but didn't find a restaurant...

This was a quiet place, with a bathroom and a place to dump and fill up! It has electrical hook ups too.

10/10 great spot for a night or two off the road

We were the only ones here. It's a beautiful sleepy little town, amazing parks... great fresh air to walk around in. Large picnic table area off the paved camper parking spaces. There are three different electric hookup spaces with 20A/30A/50A outlets at each. Showers and flush toilets are cleaned daily. There's free potable water and dump site here as well. Locals are very friendly! T-mobile service: only 2bars and LTE, but Fast enough to stream Netflix.

What a nice quiet place to spend the night. The showers were clean and hot! It is located next to the baseball field. Worthy of a donation!

There's 2 steel fire pits, a covered area with benches, restrooms, and a soda (pop) vending machine. There's signage for potable and nonpotable water (neither seems to work currently), a dumping station (not sure if it works or not), there also seems to be electrical hookups (we have solar, so no confirmation there either). All in all, good for passing through SD.
