Description

There are two pull offs on the main road right before you enter Colossal Caves Mountain Park. Pull in slow, it’s bumpy. But a gorgeous place to stay for the night. There were fellow van people in the other pull off. No one bothered us. It was perfect.

We spent the night here after dining in town. We park right at the beginning of the small road. Another van came later and parked further down the road. Quiet night. The road calm down at night; not much traffic.

Pretty nice place. Quiet even though there were 2 other van-lifers near us. Went to ‘make water’ at 3am and saw a herd of havolinas. Nice sunsets

little pull-off area on the road. The road was very quiet the night we stayed, cool cacti surrounded us. 2 bars of service, couldn’t get a lot done

I picked up a bunch of trash on the first pullout, please do the same if you can and don't be a goober and leave trash behind. Let's keep these spots open for our use.

Amazing hidden gem, stayed and enjoyed a day and night here. spotty cell reception and only 7 mins away from Safeway, Walgreens, & McDonald's.

spent 3 or 4 nights here, I love this spot! lots of great hiking and biking paths. road is awesome for running as there's huge bike lanes and very little traffic. it looks like someone *wink wink* trimmed the overgrowth to the back parking area so you can fit a pretty good sized vehicle back there but I'd recommend walking the path first and if you're long or pulling a trailer, maybe try backing in instead of pulling in and trying to turn around as there's not a ton of room at the back camping spot to turn around

chose the easier spot closest to the road. Quiet night.

We chose the second spot. We have a Winnebago View. No issues. We pulled all the way to the back close to the water tank. Great view and very quiet. Spent 4 nights.

Would not advise small cars like mine going in here....I scraped the bottom of my car and it pulled back my Splash Shield. The spot is really nice though! You can see the traffic from the main road and they can see you if you’re in the very first spot

One other person pulled in later in the evening.

This spot was pretty awesome. Only 30 minutes to downtown Tucson, but in such a beautiful area. The views of the seguaros and the mountains were incredible. Colorful sunsets. The road was decently trafficked during the day, but very quiet at night.

I stayed in the second pull-out, but that bump at the entrance was too big for my van, I didn’t want to bottom out, so I parked just before it, making me very visible to cars on the road. Still didn’t have any problems at night. After, I went to the AZT mountain bike trailhead for breakfast before riding and realized that would have been a much better place to stay. It’s at 32.09101, -110.62424 off S Pistol Hill Road. Easy access, flat and plenty of room. There’s also pull offs along S Pistol Hill, on the way to the trailhead. I saw vans parked there. i recommend those places over this one!

Small little spot tucked off the road. No issues nice a small quiet

The first spot on the left is where we stayed since the roads were less bumpy! It's pretty close to the road, but not much travel here. beautiful views of the mountains and saguaros. the sunrise here was unreal! Pretty small spot maybe can fit two smaller rigs. We were the only one here and stayed one night! Two Verizon bars.

Good for a night or two. Fair amount of traffic on main road over the weekend. Quiet at night. Nice views. Lots of cactus so not great for dogs as there is not much clear area for them. AT&T works fine.

been here 3 nights.
went to the first spot, closer to the road, but still nice and privat.
during the day you hear cars (both spots) but at night it gets quiet!
lights from the city, but still a lot of stars.
amazing place!!

Nice and quiet sleep. A few other vehicles. Scenery is beautiful!

Second spot is a little more secluded, however our neighbors at the 1st spot were close enough that their arguments kept us up all night.

Report Check-In

Nice little place to tuck in for a couple of days. We chose the first turn off which is a little less private because the second spot would have scrapped the whole bottom lenght of our camper. Have not seen anyone since we arrived 2 days ago.

Pistol hill road, hidden entrance deep dips and narrow. Remote fairly level spot at turnaround

Report Check-In

Piste road, secluded deep bumps but a fairly level spot on other side of turnaround

Spent a few nights here on the first turn off and it was wonderful. Very minimal street noise and very picturesque. We have a 21’ ambulance and it fit in fine.

Great place for a small RV/Van. Very quiet as we were the only ones here. Pulled in at sunset and leveled our van without too much trouble. Beautiful desert setting. Also there are amenities close by.

There are two separate turn offs. The one further west leads to an open spot that is very close to the road. The east one goes further in but it is quite rough with branches that scratch your favorite home. We pruned some of them for you. Both spots small with limited turning space and not quite level. Had a good night here until the rain started.
