Please state if you are arriving or departing India and check your stamps before leaving. There is no designated queue for arrival and departure resulting in some confusion. I was departing India but was given an arrival stamp. It wasn't until the Indian Army Personnel at the border checked my passport that I realised the error. I had to ride through the heavy traffic again to the immigration office, retrieve my arrival record, have it cancelled and then get the right departure stamp. Incredibly rude officers, Saw them speaking rudely at monks and nuns and also throwing passport at them. Interrupting my conversation with another lady who is also having immigration issues, stating it is my fault. Just got to smile and accept it is my fault. :-)

When entering India you need to fill out an arrival card stating your details and where you are going to stay in India. So skip the line to get this card

Worst immigration ever. It seemed they have seen a India visa for the first time. Apparently you can also go back to India when you already have an e-visa. It worked for others and they cancelled the sticker visa from Kathmandu embassy. We were also aksed for an e-visa.
