Description

Super friendly and helpful owners that will make you feel at home and ease. Fully booked during main South African school holidays, but an awesome place to relax otherwise as it's open year round. Does offer en-suite camping but gave us a good off-season discount on one of his self-cwtering sea view casas in combination with diving.
Manta Reef is an awesome spot for a dive, and Jay (the owner of the resort and dive center) is a superb instructor. We did 6 dives in 4 days. Surfing also possible in the bay and local fishermen selling fresh catch.
If there's nobody at the reception go down to the dive center/restaurant on the beach.
Restaurant has WiFi and reasonable prices. 5 bars Vodacom 3g.
Highly recommended!

5-STARS!
This place is fantastic. We wanted to camp, but no one had camped in 2yrs and the camping looked rough. Instead they gave us an out of season deal on a seaview chalet. 250R/PPPN. So we stayed 4 days and they made it 200pppn!
Also did a dive here with Chris. Great dive and great deal. Aslo Chess is operating LoveTheOceans.Org, a non profit in the community to help.local fishermen, building school, a market, community pool etc. You can help out or donate. Also went to a village soccer match close by with Ronel one of the owners. 200ppl were at the game!
They will put you in touch with fisherman. paid 300met/kg for Crayfish, Lemon fish, & king fish. You ask, the go and catch, clean it and hand it over. Amazing! Accept card.No wifi. Ocean is great. Restaurant on site. No wifi. Our favourite stop in Mozambiquie.

Super friendly welcome by Jay and his wife. We camped next to one of the cabanas as there were no other guests and were allowed to use the facilities of the cabana for a reduced rate. They also have cheaper camping facilities in the back but you can't see the ocean from there.
Hawkers are forbidden to enter the resort or the dive centre, a policy that Jay enforces and which works.
Thanks to Jay's wife's help we bought crayfish and fish from the local fishermen at local prices (350 Met for a kg of crayfish, 250 Mets for a kg of fish).
The dive centre is open as well and well stocked with great equipment. Ask Jay about the price for dives and any surcharges.
