Chestnut Creek Campground is a nice family owned campground with very nice owners near the New River Gorge visitor center. The campsites are private and well kept. Call or text the owner to reserve a site ahead of time. $15/night cash. The loop immediately to your left when you enter is where we stayed, campsite 16. We could hear route 19 traffic but it’s not bad. The other loop may be quieter. We stayed here in our 22’ trailer and had no problems navigating the campground.
Report Check-InVery nice place and the owner is welcoming. Price has increased to $15 and all the sites do not have electricity.
Report Check-InNice place to stay for the night. $15 per person no hookups but a bathroom and a shower. Very low hanging branches . I’m only 9 feet high and the branches were scraping my solar panel so beware. Very close to the National Park
Report Check-InExcellent primitive(??) camping. They have facilities walking distance from each campsite (big bath house and dishwashing sink). Only downside is you can still hear road traffic at some times. But beautiful forest and awesome sites. Very good place to stop and spend some time! Quiet and empty this time of year. So close to crags— huge perk.
