Gate to road entrance due to vandalism

Description

This is a forest road with a view pullouts. No signs at all, quiet and nice area. The closest we could find to Canon beach, just a 25 minute drive. We had good LTE signal at the pullout on the top. Not sure about further down the road. No one bothered us. Seems legit since its in a national forest. thi Quickstop down the road has diesel by the way.

Gate to road entrance due to vandalism

Report Check-In

GPS coordinates for some of the other sites may have been off, so we kept driving and parked at a Dead End Rd. As mentioned in other posts, trash all over the place but left with it looking better than when we arrived. On the edge of 5G T-Mobile service. Stayed 1 night in campervan.

Report Check-In

we drove out here to find destroyed truck camper tops. Ones was torn apart. Another was burned up. We felt a "campers will be murdered" vibe and left.

Lots of pullouts around here for camping. Stayed at one and it was peaceful. Roads are ok for 2WD. There is a highway not too far away so you may hear some cars but it's pretty far away. Fun to explore the area. No trash at the one i stayed at. Beautiful spot. Had one bar of ATT

I would not camp here. Checked it out, got completely lost. There is an endless network of roads out here, almost none of which are on Google Maps. Huge piles of trash / destroyed RVs at most sites. Drove till the end of one dirt road and saw a group of cars, pulled up to ask directions and was met with the dirtiest, scariest looks I’ve ever gotten. Total meth head vibes. Still took me another half hour to find my way back to the highway after that.

There are plenty of campsites, but this is only for the particularly brave. Scariest moment of my 2 month car camping trip so far.

Report Check-In

Lots of roads to adventure down, if you keep following the main road you’ll reach a dead end. It’s evident that others have been here. Courtesy to the butt wipes and trash everywhere.
You can vaguely hear the highway of people going up the mountain but it’s a nice spot to sleep overnight.
Shoutout to the condom wrappers, too ha.....

nice place. little noise from the road. logging operation sign however didn't see any trucks

Report Check-In

10-15 spots (atleast) down these gravel roads (can go either left or right at first fork). All of them are very spread out. We got there just before dark and the few we passed were all taken so we just parked our van in a little pull out. No issues! Quiet night too. We didn’t have service but LTE was in and out as we drove around so some spots might have service. Everyone we saw looked friendly (no one sketchy). Not a scenic area but gets the job done if you want to stay close to to the coast.

Report Check-In

We got here around 8pm and it was super sketchy at night. We found a little pullout spot about a mile down the road. This place seemed like a dump station. There were broken TVs, couches and mattresses everywhere. Was basically a junk yard. We also had 3 cars drive past us at 1am in the morning which made us even more sketched out. Wouldn't stay here again.

Report Check-In

Good location, easy to get to, lots of different sites to choose from. Some are really untidy so please ensure you take your rubbish out.

We were the only ones there that we know of and never felt sketched out, although we had to leave at around 10pm due to car troubles.

Report Check-In

Good site for an overnight. Found it was best (flattest) to park perpendicular to the road into the site. Site is clear overhead, but surrounded by trees. A couple of old growth stumps on either side of the forest road. There's some tiny views through the trees, but find somewhere else if you're looking for a sunset view.

Giving the site 3 stars because a previous occupant made their toilet ~20' down slope from the site and neglected to bury or pack out their waste. No smell, but the blue shop towels used as TP and the pile of poop are hard to miss.

As for getting to this site, we camped at: 45.86169º N, 123.76325º W. Maybe take a look at satellite photos to see what turns to make. I think we did a right turn every fork. Less than 5 minutes of driving off the pavement, yet surprisingly secluded. We had a few bars 4G too.

Report Check-In

VERY REMOTE! Roads not on Google maps. Lots of forks in the road branching off into two and three roads making it easy to get lost. Not for big rigs, no place to turn around. We stayed her one night. we were all alone. Good option given how hard it is to find a place near Cannon Beach.
