Description

Beautiful 40m waterfall, surrounded by rock formations and jungle. There is a little beach on the side to chill, you could even swim there.

Directions: Cross bridge heading south out of Chaiten. Take left turn just after bridge, drive 50m and park on road before gate to decommissioned military base. Register for free at house just inside gate. Walk on military base road to river, then follow trail to cascada. Everything is on maps.me. Must cross river a few times at the very end to get there. 3km return, flat.

Nice spot. See overlandero's comment for easy directions. Will try to add to main entry.

Unfortunately too much water and impossible to cross the river. Couldn’t see the waterfall.
The two friendly dogs showed us the way.

25 min walk from the bridge. On my way there a few people pointed me in the right direction, but it is super easy to find. The river was low, so I could cross with baby strapped to my chest. Definitely worth visiting!

Beautiful and quiet spot.
Cross the bridge, take a left, drive 50 meters and park the car just before the gate of the unused military facility. There’s a little house a few meters after the gate where you can register. Then you just go through the internal roads (they appear in maps.me) until you reach the river and follow an easy trail.
Took 20 minutes from the car.

Such a sick spot, fast to reach and easy to find. After entering the ‚gate’ a friendly local lady noted our names and RUT. Then her two dogs accompanied and literally guided us all the way to the waterfall. Had to cross the river only once. Waterfall‘s huge! Once there, you can climb the left side if you‘re careful (very slippery rocks). Also there‘s one spot more downstream where you can jump 2 m from a rock into a deeper part of the river. Dogs stayed the whole time, climbing around on the rocks with us. Truly a cool moment!

👌👌 follow the river that hugs the military base. Cascada is tucked in the steep canyon you can see from the road. Beautiful.

Wow, wow, wow... this waterfall is SO worth it! Probably one of my favorite ones ever, absolutely beautiful and impressive, no one else around, you can get as close as you want, swim in the waters, crawl over the rocks. Definitely worth the short hike, which will require you to cross the river a couple of times, either jumping from stone to stone or balancing on a fell tree or just taking off your shoes. We absolutely loved it and can't recommend enough! Thank you so much to those who found and recommended it.

Beautiful 40m waterfall, surrounded by rock formations and jungle. There is a little beach on the side to chill, you could even swim there.
To get there, stay left (north) of the military zone, then follow the river upstream. There is no trail. You will have to cross it a few times where you can. 40 min walk there.
