Description

Nice place for the night or two. a little noise from the Interstate, but not too bad. This place used to be a State campground, I believe. We stayed at the first pull off we came to. There are Petroglyphs a short walk from the pull off. The road in was ok but it had just rained. A few pot holes. Real quiet considering the Interstate was so close.

Latest Check-Ins

Stopped at first site due to variable snow forecast. In AM walked 2 miles down the road. 0.75mi past first site road turns from firm dry gravel to deep muddy ruts. Numerous additional sites along gravel road with good turn around options. ATT 4bar LTE.

Report Check-In

Quiet nights stay in turn around area, camper van.

Report Check-In

Great place for a night close from highway 15
Gravel but well maintained road

There are a lot of small potholes, but if you take your time any size rig can fit here. It is the first pulloff. We stayed in a 26.5ft Lazy Daze Motorhome with no problems. The views of the snowy mountains are beautiful. It's April so the weather was in the high 40s to low 50s during the day and 20s at night.

Report Check-In

A great overnight spot on the way north to craters of the moon National monument.

Report Check-In

There were alot of potholes in the gravel road. The Indian pectroglyphs are cool. Road noise is ok. Great location along the freeway.

Very Nice place to spend a night. Better than parking at the nearby truck stop. The road did have an abundance of pot holes like mentioned in other posts. It is close to the freeway. We did not see any other campers.

Report Check-In

Tons of potholes leading up to main spot. Was super hot with no shade so we decided to bounce.

Report Check-In

dirt road is very bumpy in certain sections. Long dirt road with big camping spots which is nice, only one other camper I saw and we had plenty of space between each other. You can see the freeway from the camping spots, but it's not super loud and actually gave me some peace of mind. The only real scenery are mountains in the background. Definitely no shade anywhere! But overall, I liked this place.

Report Check-In

Seems to be an abandoned state park campground. No signs except for BLM notices to not remove artifacts. (There are petroglyphs nearby).

Some road noise. Dark! Saw no people and no problems. Spears to be under BLM management so I think ok to camp. Los of spots! No facilities. Pack everything out, including your poop, the ground is not easily diggable (rocky) for catholes.

There were some spots, the highway noise was no problem but there wasn‘t a lot to do. Stipp a lot better than Walmart parking!
