Something not right?

Description

Public turnoff directly off highway, but quiet and with a lake view. No signs other than "parking" posted. Trash cans and a picnic table.

Quiet, we had one truck pull in late at night for a short rest but was gone in an hour.

Paved and in excellent condition with plenty of room for larger rigs.

Good 4G Verizon & AT&T

Report Check-In

The best spot we could find around Carson City. Had a good night, two other campers stayed there as well. T-mobile signal okay.

Great spot as described. We are the only ones here so far. Too bad we have this freak cold snap right now. I'd love to be sitting outside by the lake.

This location is an awesome spot just off the highway. We pulled in last night around 10pm and parked our 40ft rig right up alongside the picnic bench. One other RV pulled in not long after us but barely noticed them. When we woke up this morning, there was a semi truck and one other car parked in the circular parking area. Everyone had their own space. The view is gorgeous and the traffic barely noticeable at night. I’d definitely stop here again! I’m guessing you could probably stay a few nights but very likely cops patrol the area and might say something if they see the same rig parked here multiple nights. It’s 12:30pm and we made reservations at an RV park in Carson city and we’re having a hard time leaving here because it’s so nice! Gorgeous weather right now too!
Dropped 1/2 star mainly because of proximity to highway.

This place was so great! We parked all the way at the end. One other little skoolie joined us. Dogs can run and play, the views are AMAZING. Sunrise and sunset were both worth seeing. Dirt road is a little rough but totally doable in our 38 foot rig

Report Check-In

The sunset here is unreal!!! I parked in the main parking area for the afternoon working. I had decent Verizon coverage with my antenna booster but had great coverage after coming down the dirt road to the end. A sherif from the Carson City office and a detective from the Sparks PD stopped by looking for information about a robbery that occurred, presumably here?!? They asked how long I’d been camping here and seemed very chill and acted as if ppl stay here often. They said the cell signal is much better at the end of the gravel road than at the main parking lot. They asked a lot of questions about my camper van (intrigued) and complimented - nice ppl.

I wasn’t sure though if I should be spooked by this robbery information or what. After spending several hours here it seemed like a fine location. Not really sure if there is reason to be concerned. Anywho, I added a few photos of sunset here. There is some highway noise but it drowns out of you have a fan going inside. Also, the diet road portion is drivable but know that there are some deep ruts.
