Description

West Yellowstone Police Department suggested this place to me as there is no street parking allowed overnight in town. They called it the truck stop but there are no amenities here, it’s truly just a pull off where truckers stop to sleep. It’s right outside of town and I felt very safe. Other vans and RVs were parked here overnight. Right next to the road but not too noisy, as cars are slowing down to enter town. 2-3 bars Verizon LTE. Next to forested area to walk dogs. (Beware of wildlife)

Easy spot for a night while exploring Yellowstone. Just outside West Yellowstone, Montana. Lots of rigs, camper vans, travel trailers, etc on both sides of the street. Plenty of space for multiple rigs. There’s also a hiking trail through the woods.

Report Check-In

The spot is really close from Yellowstone NP (west entrance).
A bit noisy. Felt safe.

Report Check-In

Nice level pull off. Didn’t get bothered last night. Got in late (watch out for bison on your way) and there was a handful of cars and a truck here already. 2 bars of 5G with mint mobile/T-Mobile. Happy camping! :-)

ok for 1 night but be aware: it is a truckstop and if you are unlucky, the truck next to you will run its generator all night. fills up fully throughout the evening in high season, worth making a beeline to Old Faithful from here.

Ótimo lugar para dormir, perto da cidade de West Yellowstone e perto da entrada do parque. Tinha várias Vans e um trailer dormindo junto com a gente.

Dirt pull off on side of the road. Lots of other vehicles parked for the night. Trucks, vans, diesels.

Nice little pull of for trucks not too many spots.

Only a day use area! Camping is not allowed.

Report Check-In

Perfect place to sleep for an early entry to the park. We left at 5am to hopefully get a campsite in the park.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 1 night. There is a sign near the trail that said “day use only” but we assume this is for the trail since the lot was packed full of travelers by nightfall. Huge semi size parking, as well as parking along the edges for smaller vehicles. Did not see anywhere for tents. Basically a rest stop without bathrooms. Road noise was loud since it’s a highway, but didn’t bother us much. Level. Convenient.
