We asked at the reception of the Superstore and they told us that it was allowed to camp at the end of the parking lot. A lot of fast-food restaurants all around .
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Asked the help desk and they said ok. There was one other rv. Free internet but really really slow. Better use the Starbucks wifi
Report Check-InWe follow the instructions of the other travelers below down. Go to the end of the parking lot. Don’t have problems. We sleep just 1 night. Became snowing and the kids loved!!! Good memories
Report Check-InIt is marked as closed, but is not closed. We got permission from the manager to park for one night, at our own risk.
Report Check-InIt’s marked as closed, but we stayed here in July with no problem, so we asked about staying tonight on our way back through and the manager said one night is fine, not near the store doors, and at our own risk.
Report Check-InChecked with customer service just to make sure (there are the 3 hour limit signs around in the parking lot), and she said it was ok (“at your own responsibility”). No one bothered us, it was fine, there were a handful of other people staying there too.
Report Check-InStayed for one night when I had a bunch of errands to run on that end of town. A little loud but otherwise fine.
Report Check-InGreat spot bought groceries dinner across street big parking lot more room than most rv parks - about 12 rigs tonight
Report Check-InWhat a nice break from all the the small stores along the way. The prices here are so much more respectable.
Report Check-InSigns in car park say you can’t stay overnight but we asked inside and they said we could. No issue stopping here and perfect location if you want to have some drinks in Whitehorse and not drive on.
Report Check-InI don't sleep here but the shop is very good and price are reasonable. Better that Save on Food, and more choice that Walmart.
Report Check-InGood place for 2 night. Superstore asks that you park on the outskirts of the parking area.
Report Check-InJust like any store parking lot. Hopefully quiet tonight. Thank you Superstore for allowing RV’s to park overnight.
Report Check-InStill open. We camped here two nights on our way to Alaska and two nights on our way back south. There are signs that it’s only allowed to park 3 hours but we asked in the store and it’s totally ok to overnight there. You just have to park far away from the entrance!
Report Check-InThe place is still open
and seems to be one of the few places in town, where you can Stay vernäht (Walmart - close by - is not allowed) !
Noisy but okay for the night. Quite a few campers here today. If you are sensitive to specific sounds, there is a steady beep from across the street. Like once a second audible signal.
Report Check-InHuge parking lot. Great place to shop and sleep one night.
Whitehorse Visitor Centre advised being the only spot authorized in town.
Report Check-Inwe went to the Wallmart not knowing it was not allowing campers and then went to the Superstore.. this place was great lots of room .. alittle road nice but right in the city and the store and staff were great..
Super quiet to park and sleep, few days resting, many travelers sleeping by the parking lot. You can leave the car parked and explore the city on foot. There is internet in the market and in other establishments close by.
@enjoytripbr
Report Check-InConvenient for the store and town.
Very noisy at night!
Cars racing along the road and delivery trucks to the store.
Ok for one night.
we asked customer service and they confirmed staying 1 night is ok
Report Check-InOne night only, says manager. Park in back left (facing store). Buy something. :-)
Report Check-InStayed for a few nights (would leave during the day and come back at night) and didn’t have any issues. I stayed during weeknights and it was actually not that loud w/ earplugs in. I did hear pickup trucks speeding by starting around 0630. The Superstore has a lot of different things… tons of grocery items & ready-made meals ~ overall pretty comparable to a Walmart. Just OK organic produce section…
Report Check-InI was thé only one overnight.
Some came but left.
Convenient but rather noisy.
All good. Remember you are staying here at the grace of the landowner. PLEASE, don't leave your stinky RV parked here for weeks on end.
Report Check-InWe were looking for a place to stay on a quick reprovisioning trip to Whitehorse. We called the store and were given permission to park at the back end of the parking lot, near 2nd Avenue. It's a relatively large parking lot, mostly flat, lit at night. It's right on a main road, so expect some road noise. Not much traffic 11-5. There's good ATT/Telus and Verizon/Bell cell service. There were 10 other RVs overnighting with us on a Saturday night. Quiet night. Well stocked store.
Would not recommend this place. Traffic passing all night, not very quiet. During the night we also had someone try and steal stuff off our roof racks cutting the ties on things before we managed to scare them off. Beware!
Report Check-InRoad noise is just horrible. We endured somehow because were not sure if we could park near to the supermarket building may be better - worth checking as road never quietened.
Report Check-InWe slept two nights there. It is very noisy but the only option for overnight parking in whitehorse at the moment.
Report Check-InWas kicked out of the Walmart parking lot, this store was more than happy to allow customers to stay in their lot. I was happy to have McDonald's fries. :)
Report Check-InThere were tons of RVs in the same corner outside. While I was waiting to ask the Customer Service if I could stay overnight, the lady was on the phone answering the same question. The answer is YES as long as you don’t park on the right hand side (looking from the store) because that’s where trucks go to wait to unload.
This place might also close due to its popularity (I imagine RVs moving from Walmart to here). They have no obligations to allow it.
Please shop in the store and show that you’re doing so.
Wifi in the store.
No mosquitoes. ;)
Report Check-InThere are many other RV and Camper on the place. The RCMP came toward and wish us a good night. Walmart is out! RC Superstore is in for us.
Report Check-InWe spent the night here with more than 20 motorhome rv campervan vans etc etc super quiet the store closes at 10 pm
Report Check-InWe asked at the reception of the Superstore and they told us that it was allowed to camp at the end of the parking lot near the 2nd . A lot of fast-food restaurent all around .
