Description

Probably the most beautiful (bush) campsite in the whole national park.
There are only three campsites. NO fences and only basic toilets for each site. So very quiet and you are really in the Kalahari! If everything is fully booked you can try to get the "overflow place". This place is even some hundreds meter further in the bush....No facilities at all at this place - just a nice spot in the nature. 😁
You can book it from the HQ in Twee Rivieren. It doesn't matter whether you come from RSA or Botswana. Both desks are in the same building. You can combine it also with eg Nossop or Mata Mata (RSA).
The costs are BWP 30 pPn for the campsite, BWP 20 pPn for the park (the wildcard does not work here! - but in total it is much cheaper than the RSA campsites!!!) and BWP 4 for the car (also for our 7,5ton truck - we had to pay only the normal car tax).

Latest Check-Ins

There has been a fire in December 2021. Camp site not really affect except site 1 toilet is missing many of its wooden slats. Polentswa Lodge was burnt down. Everywhere is recovering now and it is green and lush after the rains. All sites are useable

Report Check-In

Very nice place with beautiful view and good shadows. It is the reserve campsite, the other campsites KTPOL01-03 were already fully booked. We booked on the gate Mabuasehue east Gate. (2x 30p + 4p)
No toilet, no water.
We saw some lion's tracks, but no animal.

The road between Polentswa and Kaa Nord Gate is beautiful, a small trail but easy to drive, no too much bush. It was green with nice flowers. Nobody drive this road at the moment. We didn't see too much game.

Report Check-In

Last minute booking for the reserve site through Kaa gate staff, wasn't a problem. Lovely spot, lion area. Was apparently all fully booked but we moved to site 1 in the evening when it was apparent no one was coming. Great sunsets!

Beautiful camp spot next to the pan. Polentswa 1 is our favorite spot, as it has the best view over the pan. Each has an A-frame for shade which is very helpful during the day. Shower not working, only basic latrine. Heard lions close by at night.
