Namibia
north gate, we came to the gate at 6.20 pm, gate was supposed to be open till 6.30. Everything was closed. Some drunk officer came and shouted to us that it was open till 6 and he and he did a big search in our car. Looked in every drawer. Totally unfriendly.

The park opens with sunrise/ -sunset and is open all year. Every Sunday the opening time is adjusted accordingly to the sun.
Perfect gate to enter, as you have many animals here and less cars. We always wildcamped close to the gates, no one bothered.
Report Check-InEasy gate, friendly staff. They didn't ask for meat or plastic bags, but they did ask if we had fire guns. We immediately saw animals (giraffes, lot of zebras, wildebeests, oryx and even warthogs). On the road to Namutoni, we saw countless giraffes, one rhino and a herd of elephants. Few cars, it seems that there is less traffic than on the road Namutoni-Okaukuejo. Very recommendable gate and road to enter Etosha.
Report Check-Inprice for foreigners is 150pp + 50 per car. plastic bags not allowed but it's written nowhere that raw meat is forbidden and nobody asked about it
Report Check-InSame as the below comment.
They opened at 7:15 mid May.
You have to drive trough where you have to pay anyways.
They asked for a driving licence, filled a form with the driver data and we were in. The payment is to be made 44 km from the gate at the main reception. They told us not to bring plastic bags inside, no check for meat products. Gate closes at 18.20.
