Description

Campground next to Springbokwasser Gate of Skeleton N.P. Campsite closest to park most of the year as Torra Bay is only open in December and January and Terrace Bay has cottages only; the park has no other accomodation. Two formal sites with braai and pinnacle plus additional open space on sandy terrain.Well maintained. We were not asked for a fee.

Close to the Skeleton Coast park. We chose the C39 Wildcamp spot right before.

Report Check-In

Pretty basic, toilets and showers were dirty. They charged us 80 ND. Guard and policeman are on the talkative side. Generator running. Would got wild camping next time.

Report Check-In

transit is free if you exit thru the south gate.
If you come back te same gate then you have to pay the Terras bay fee.
the shop here is closed and wil not re-open.

Report Check-In

If you are in transit (once at the T junction you turn left and not right to go to Terrace Bay as this is a private road), it is free. We saw a guide there and he exchanged us money because we ran out of N$ and we had to pay cash only. He said we would waste our time going up to Terrace Bay if we don’t stay there overnight since we see the same things along the coast going to the south gate.

Report Check-In

Basically is a parking lot next to the gate, that's why for free I think.
Cold shower, toilet, basin for washing dishes and 4 spots for Braai.
Was charged N$80 for transit permit.

Report Check-In

Warning for Bikers!

Motorbikes can get transit permit and go through skeleton coast park but you cant camp and you cant get into Torra Bay national park.

Report Check-In

Transit Permit is for free! At least the Permit for one Day. You have to enter before 3 pm if you want to transit. With a bit of talking they let us enter at 4 pm also. They close the Gates at 7 pm.

Report Check-In

Transit permit is 100 N$. Haven't been at the campsite.

Report Check-In

This site is right next to the gate and the road. No wind breaks. Not a particularly nice place to stay. We chose to wildcamp nearby instead.
