This is an awesome spot. But hear me out, you do need low range 4x4, and you do need clearance. Yes, 4x4 is tossed around too often for no reason on ioverlander, but in this case it's true. Scout on foot before you try to bring your van here. You're better off with a small, nimble 4x4. I brought an older Grand Cherokee down here and still got pinstripe all over. At least one gnarly rock 40 feet in, right in the middle. Loose rocks of decent size on the sides, don't trust them. I pulled a high-ish clearance teardrop behind my Grand Cherokee and it was prob the wrong decision, but it made for a pretty good adventure :)

Awesome camp right beside the water - need a solid 4x4 to get down from the highway, big rocks. Great view and very peaceful. Some morning joggers from a nearby beach, free!

Great stay here, free, 4x4 and high clearance still required for the very rocky 100m entrance. Nice little sandy spot, a bit windy. One other van there with us. I picked up an entire big black garbage bag of trash, cleaner now - let’s keep it that way! Take your TP with you or burn it.

Possible to park beside the highway and camp down into this private beach. Some beaches around charge so a private free beach sound like a good option.

This is our second time staying here and I almost don’t want to share because it’s such an awesome spot. First trip in 2016 was on a moto tent camping, now we have our rig. There is noise from the highway but doesn’t matter, essentially a private beach all to yourself. Requires 4x4 and high clearance because of really rocky path down, but once you make it the short ways you’re down on the sand. Around the corner is the sand bar, but toilets are gross so just use the nature around you. Plus this spot is free. There are plenty of bushes and a few man-made fire pits. A few people walk the short path over from the sand bar to this spot, but once they see you they usually give you your privacy. We had our three dogs with us and they did fine on the beach and never ran up to the road or around the corner to the other site. It’s far enough away. If you can, there’s a small market about 5 miles north with snacks and beer for cheap prices. If you run out, or are looking for a party or some tacos, Buena Ventura Restaurant/Bar is right around the corner to the left—opposite from the sand bar—just a paddle or kayak trip away. We were able to grab some beer and flour tortillas, though their prices are pretty high. (40 pesos for beer, 35 pesos for 10 pack flour tortillas). The owners were SUPER nice though, they also have parties every Tuesday with cheap tacos and drinks. We brought our paddle boards because the bay is so nice to be in on warm days and there is lots of wild life to see. Rays (couldn’t tell if they were sting rays) birds, blow fish, and other stuff all around to see. We spent a few days here, definitely worth more than just one night’s stay.

Clean up after yourself so the place stays nice. And dude.... bury your poop and TP, it isn’t that hard. Leave it better than you found it.

This is a great location but 4x4 and high clearance are needed. BE AWARE: although this is not part of the pay beach just around the corner, the woman who lives on that beach drove over and tried to get us to pay 150pesos. Our friend stayed here before and the same thing happened with a man demanding money. There are no palapas or trash cans here like the paid site. We did not pay but don’t be surprised if someone asks you to :/

Still an amazing place and free! Very rocky small road. High clearance needed. We recommend 4x4 to drive up. Looks like someone is fixing this small road to make it accessible for any car but not for now.

We did not drive in here but we walked from the sand bar.
There is an old road or pathway from the sandbar you can walk along to get here.
There is room for about 4 or 5 SMALL units and not sure about trailers. This is NOT large unit friendly but you could park at the sandbar and walk to check this out.

We camped at the sand bar and we should have stayed here. Just as nice and no one would collect money. You could also make the short walk to use the pit toilets at the sand bar from here if you wanted.

Very rocky access. Definitely 4x4 high clearance. Maybe you can park 100 meters back on the access road.
