Description

Chilo is a guide with whom you can make excursions into the Bañado on pole boats to really see the diversity in flora and fauna. You can see a lot of different birds including the famous Jabiru, caymans (yacaré) or big snakes.
They also have rooms to stay the night (with very basic bathrooms), meals and you can camp there.
To get to the place you have to take a 65km dirtroad that isn't too good but busses made it too.
The price for the boat trip was 500ARS (10U$D at the time) which I think was OK as we were on the water about 3 hours and the place is amazing (take a look at the fotos)!!!
I guess it is better to contact them before you come (+54 9 370 154608983 or via Facebook chio.ruiz.56)

We did the 2 hours sunrise tour and it was just amazing. This place is incredible. Chilo and his wife are very friendly, they gave us a space within their property to spend the night before and after the tour and even left us use the hot showers. Our guide for the tour was José, nice guy as well. They rent rooms if you need.

On a payé 2000Arp/pers

Contact on whatsapp was really good but the connection with Chilo was missing when we arrived. We arrived in the evening to do the boattrip the next morning. We didn’t recieve any explanation or some small talk, felt strange to us. Next morning it was raining so we postponed the boat trip for a day. It was not a problem to stay in our camper an extra day. Boat trip itself was amazing!!! Beautiful place ❤️ We payed 1.500 pesos per person but you have to negociate. Some friends of us payed 50 usd a couple of weeks ago for the same trip ;-)

Got a very fair price for a tour. Could spend the night without extra fee. Toilet and shower were really basic and not that clean. The tour the next morning, however, was fantastic. Spend about 3 hours on the water, saw so many birds, some nests, some caiman... Chilo can answer all your questions, only in Spanish but he speaks slowly so you can understand. 65km of shit road though, both ways. Sometimes bad, sometimes ok, never good. Calculate 2 hours for the road, you don't wanna do it in the dark. Unless you have a 4x4, then do whatever you please!

Oh yes this tour with chilo was amazing. We paid 600 pesos pp and absolutely worth it. Even if we didn't see so many animals (its better to come between june and september) the Banado and the sunset was incredible beautiful. Chilo is also building cabanas next to his house for the tourists. We had a great traditional asado and absolutely recommend to visit this place. Update on chilos number: +54 9 370 4608983

AMAZING place. You can do the boat tour at any time of the day, better at the sunrise or sunset 😊 Chilo also do the tour at night time with the full moon.
you can camp for free in his patio (his wife is adorable and provides you with everything you need), make fire and use the bathroom.
Contact CHILO RUIZ in Facebook or just go directly at his home in Fortin Soledad (he's the only "official" guides, other people in the village asked us to do the tour with them but I think is better to do it with Chilo....).
Worth the 65km of dirt road.
