Restaurant and bar available up the hill at the lodge. Super friendly lodge employees came to greet us and welcome us. Walking distance to hotel and spa down the road. Really steep drive down from main road. Basic camping by hotel. Loos, very cold shower, wifi at hotel reception. Lovely location. Pay for a bird guide; well worth it if you’re into birding.

Very narrow steep grade to drive down into this area. Great location to camp near a river. Hiking trails to waterfall & hanging bridge on site. Guests can use of boats on pond, clean banos, sinks & cold showers. A few covered shelters with sinks. Safe & quiet at night. WiFi at nice restaurant/lodge. Hammocks near river. $10 usd per person. Excellent trout meal at Dona Marlén restaurant up the road.

5300 colones / night / person for camping area. Clean and cosy with hammock area.
In the morning, we spotted a few quetzals around the small lake (around 7-8 am). I recommend

Great camping spot. But greedy owners, not the staff. When you travel
from far and misjudge the cold nights, first they don’t have extra blankets and then you can borrow blankets 10$ a piece. You could practically take them for that price. Anyway- bad experience for us in a Jeep-tent and side tent construction.

Very beautiful. Well signed hiking trails and a nice peaceful setting. The cabanas looked nice from the outside. Clean bathroom for the campers, cold shower.

What a lovely place to stay. We stayed in the cottage and thought it was a reasonable price. Got a delicious 3 course breakfast included. Dinner was also 3 course for $9000c. We could not eat it all as so big and but supper taste. Hiking trails and a boats in a lake for use. Checked out camping area. Have a covered area for cooking under or could even put small tent under. Got down to 13C at night so not to bad.

Had this place almost to ourselves (only few other guests). The night were cold so we could sleep under a blanket, which was a nice change. Clean toilets and cold showers, but they allowed us to use warm showers in one of the empty cabins. Payed 4000 colones per person. We had one dinner at their restaurant, but we were a bit disappointed. Food wasn't bad but expected a bit better for the setting/price. We saw a quetzal in the morning in one of the trees were they nest. Tons of guides and groups around so just follow one of them.

Really nice place. Not much space to camp but fine for a RV and several tents. The shelter is great and the toilet and showers are very clean. No warm water. Friendly reception and 5k col per night. Bring warm blankets, it is very cold (also because of the river prob).

We stayed one night on the camping close to the river. Nice garden and very convenient cooking area with light and a roof. The nights were cold, so bring warm clothes! Price: $7.- per person. Friendly staff and nice trails on the property.

This is definitely a great place to visit. The road to it from the coast is incredible. The last 6 miles or so down to San Gerardo de Dota are rough. I wouldn’t really call this a campsite. More like a couple of semi level spots next to a dirt road below a hotel/lodge where you can camp. The bathrooms and showers are good but don’t expect hot water or Wi-Fi. Also be prepared to camp under tall trees if you camp in the official “camping area”. We chose to camp in the parking lot next to the hotel which is much more open and wasn’t covered by trees. There is a lot to do in the valley including birdwatching (you can join tours assuming there is room at the hotel next door), hiking and mountain biking. Overall highly recommended but don’t expect a five star campground.

Beautiful campground. Can be cold during night. Very good restaurant. Clean facilities. Quiet place (exept from the river noise). Nice walks in the area with a chance to see Quetzals

Small but nice campsite on a resort. Lots of flowers. Clean and good showers and toilets. We have slept in our rooftoptent. Good restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Stunnjng road to the resort ;-)

All the great things others have said: we liked it so much we stayed a night longer than we’d planned. I recommend calling ahead to check availability because there are not that many campsites (everyone in the office speaks English). There was no hot water in the camping area showers, but when we asked about it they gave us the key to one of the cabins and let us shower there. WiFi is good. $10 per person per night.

This is a very nice campsite to stay. It reminded me a bit of Canada, due to cold temperatures and a river next to the camp site. We had the campsite to our selves and the shower and toilet as well. Which are very clean. You can do a hike straight from the campground. A nice but easy walk. If you’d like you can dine in the restaurant.
There is firewood for a camp fire.
The young staff was very nice, spoke perfect English and were very helpful. They even helped for at least 15 min to fix me a hot shower when it didn’t work at first. If the shower in the campsite wouldn’t work out, I could use one in the cabins they have for rent.
It’s safe, it’s clean, calm, you’re in the forest with squirrels & (humming) birds and I can’t think of anything bad to say about this place. We paid 8000 Col. for one night/two persons/rooftop tent. We had no WiFi due to landslides in the rainy season. But normally it’s there. You won’t miss it though.
I highly recommend this place.

As described. We were able to get a small discount for 4 nights, paying 10,000C per night. The hot water in the men's shower was not working. There are a couple hikes on the property, one ending at a small waterfall. Our rig is 6m long and 2.6m high, no problem accessing the site but the road down is steep. Very beautiful property full of flowering plants and birds. We did not eat at the restaurant.

Basically camping in a lovely garden next to the river with covered cooking area. Small site with showers/toilets/wifi. 6000c pp. Very cold at night here so come prepared. Walking distance to hotel saverge that offers guides for birdwatching $35pp Ask for Melvin as he is super spotter and a character. Or get up at 5am. Hike back up road 2-4km and you are in for a good chance of spotting quetzals from the road- join the groups of people doing the same but with their guides.

Really nice place in the area. The stuff was quite nice, but not as helpful as mentioned before. We could use the toilets and showers which were really nice and clean. The Wi-Fi signal from the Reception/Restaurant lastet to the campingspace. There is electricity if your wire is long enough. They have a little covered area with a grill and water attached. We payed 12000 colones/20$ for one night in a camper. With a normal car with a rooftoptent you will fit in without any problems.

Great people, beautiful property. Showers weren't hot but not that big of a deal. Camping directly on a river, full outdoor kitchen in camping. Clean bathrooms (maybe hot water tomorrow). You cannot fit here with an rv the bridge you have to cross pretty low. My jeep with lockbox and rooftop tent made it threw but it's not for big rigs nor is the road down to this place. I would recommend coming here for some tranquillity, very safe area to walk around at anytime. Closest campsite to the waterfalls! A must stay.
