Red Fir Flat Group Campground is the actual name. Off the road just before Sand Flat road, large area with may sites spread throughout the forest.

This whole area is still under snow in May. Only the main road up is plowed and everything else is inaccessible by vehicle.
Report Check-InWe spent a few days here in our converted school bus. There was plenty of room to turn around one we reached the shasta trinity sign. The road up is a very steep climb up a massive mountain. our bus barely made it up. I would not want to try it on a hot day.
there were a few vigils in the area where people had left crystals. If you find new age spiritualism creepy then you may not like this spot.
