VW House, San Felipe | Mechanic and Parts

We stayed 6 weeks at Mario’s workshop to completely rebuild our engine (and other things). It’s a great space with loads of room to work, a good selection of tools and peace and quiet to get on with whatever you need to do. Tornero, mechanics, parts shops and supermarkets all within walking distance. Bus to Santiago is also possible $10 return. Completely secure, we had our own gate key. Our cats were safe here too and his mum who lives next door, let us sit in the garden and use her washing machine. His whole family are lovely and we are so grateful that he was more than happy to just let us stay as long as we needed. No fixed rate; just pay what you can or think is fair. Mario is a traveller himself so he understands.

It was perfect! You can repair your car here or clean it up after a dusty trip. We have been there for some days. Mario and his family are really nice. We felt save and in Felipe de los Andes you can get mostly every spare part. Thank you Mario! Gracias Mario y un saludo a tu madre!!
