Something not right?

Description

There is a sign in the parking lot that says overnight parking welcome. We stayed here one night. it is right by the road, but the traffic dies down at night. The museum is pretty cool and only costs 5 CAD. There is a bathroom in the museum, but not available otherwise. 4G LTE service with good signal strength.

Kluane museum- stayed the night last night. Good parking although not perfectly level it was an excellent option. We appreciate the opportunity to park here. Planned to visit the museum this morning but sign said closed.

Good overnight stop and a fantastic guy in the museum!

It welcomes camping and is a nice little museum to go through. It’s along the Highway but was remarkable quiet.

“Welcome to park overnight”-sign still there! Museum was closed.
Instead of parking here check out the old campground on iOverlander just 10 minutes north. Nice views there and very private :-)

this museum is only open seasonally (closes September 15th!). you should be okay to still park overnight, though.

À ne surtout pas manquer pour les amateurs de la faune, superbe. 5.00$ par adulte, 4.00$ pour les aînés.

Small parking lot out front of the museum. Close to highway. Sign reading "Overnight parking welcomed" Parked right next to that and no one bothered us.

Spent the night in a Class C with tow car. Only one there. Safe and quiet

Quiet, 2 semis came in after me, but did not stay. I’m in a 35’ class A with tow. Nice museum.

Really impressive, we highly recommended to visit the museum. High quality of naturaliser animal in there environment. First Nation traditionnel handcrafted very nice and a skin canoe!

Report Check-In

Large parking lot that offers overnight parking.

Well described by original poster. Only unfortunate thing is that it is relatively far between two highway rest stops so no 24 hour public restrooms in either direction for over 10 km (I can't recall exactly how far). There is a bit of space to pull around behind (probably only suitable for rooftop tent or small van) which helped to shield from the bit of highway noise.

You have to buy a ticket to the museum to use the washrooms (museum open from 9 to 5:30). But it's worth it, very nice little museum, mainly about the animals of the Yukon. The night was OK, there is not much traffic but since it's right beside the highway you hear every car that passes by. We also heard coyotes cry in the middle of the night!
