Beautiful basic campsite overlooking a lake. lots of birds and lots of giraffe hoof prints in the ground. A giraffe came to drink in the early morning. As of now, toilettes and showers are under construction, looks pretty much done.

Great place, saw a lot of wildlife. Price is now KES 1'500 pp and 750 per car.
Report Check-InSuper campsite with good clean toilet and shower block. As others have said, you do hear road noise, but this didn't bother us. Plenty of level areas for RTT; our son slept in his hammock. We heard lion and hyena in the night. Mugie staff are very welcoming and helpful. A great stopover location.
Report Check-Invery nice and spacious camp. we saw buffalos, elephants, waterbuck, hippos, warthog, impalas. perfect place but the road is really close so quite noisy. toilet and shower are basic but more than enough
Report Check-InGreat stopover in a simple campsite all as described by Ytierie. In my opinion it lacks a bit of charm, and you can also hear and see some vehicles passing on the road right behind the dam. Still a nice pleasant stay and price isn't abusive for the wildlife you see from camp: 1,000 KES ppn + 500 per vehicle up to 7 seats (+1,000KES for a ranger which is optional). If you stay for more than 1 night you must pay conservation fees which are 30 USD ppn (+1,000 KES for a ranger mandatory when game driving). Saw elephants, giraffe, hippos, antelopes and crested cranes. Herd lions and hyenas at night. Bushbabies on the trees at night and a big beaver-like rodent lives at the rocky walls below the campsite coming out in the early morning. Great Safaricom internet signal. Airtel works poorly.
Report Check-InBeautiful campsite overlooking a big waterhole.
This is the public campsite about 1km from HQ. It feels like a true bush campsite.
The private campsites are more secluded, but also about 80 dollars more expensive.
We saw Buffalo, waterbuck and hippos around our camp.
There is an ablution block with a clean flushing toilet, a cold shower and a sink with running water.
Max the reserve manager is super friendly and replies very fast on your emails [email protected]
A true recommendation!
Report Check-InThere is also camping in a field on the farm for those not wanting to pay conservancy fees for the campsite at the dam. We took this option as we had some maintenance to do so would not get value out of our conservancy entrance fee. It was a pleasant grassy field behind a euphorbia tree. You can walk on the farm and we saw antelope and several bird species.
