Description
Turn-off 3 km before Chrissiesmere, from Ermelo, in Mpumalanga.
3.3 km Dirt road.
Nect to largest lake, on an operating soya & maize farm.
Ideal for summer camping, fishing, rowing (few cano's for hire - R100 p/d) - no power boats allowed..
Patches of shade.
We camped in dry mid winter - only 2 campers - complete silence.
Care-taker (Andre) on site.
Hot water from solar heating - high season would limit supply.
Few ablusions - very neat & tidy.
4 House & few hoyse-tent accomodation.
Main feature for us: complete silence.
Fee was ZAR 200. I paid R80 for car and just me

Report Check-InPerfect place for a stopover or more ! Beautiful lake in a beautiful area. It's also a nice place to escape the heat in summer as it's situated in a high altitude plateau. Very friendly owners.
At 70 pp, it might be the best value for a good campsite in all of Africa...

The price is now 70 rand ppn, which is amazing for what you get.

It is cold between May and October.
Very large and peaceful campsite on our way from Drakensberg to Kruger. Clean ablutions, hot showers. Good internet connection with Vodacom. Still 120 ZAR for 2 people.
