Description

Official campsite of the PN. Lovely and quiet and there is a great hike up to the Mirador that is about 6 hrs round trip. Each site has its own tap and a light that works! We paid CLP 3.000 each per night.
Also required to pay CLP 5.000 each to enter the park.

campsite only accessible by 4x4. we parked our van at the entrance to the national park and walked up with our tent here to camp for 1 night. the enladrillado hike which had the best views at the top!

Report Check-In

We wanted to stay there the night before our hike but the camping site is not accessible with a van, ONLY 4x4 or walking with your tent. The rangers are super friendly and said we could wildcamp on the parking before the entrance. There are no facilities but a safe spot so perfect for 1 night, for us. Day after we did a beautiful day hike: the great loop (+30km in 10h).

Report Check-In

Open again, but the gate to enter closes every day at 3. We didn’t stay (arrived too late) but had breakfast at the tables and it looked very pretty.

Report Check-In

The car park is closed, you can’t go there by car, there is currently a gate 2 km before. It is possible to park next to the street. The street is brand new paved.

Report Check-In

the light at the sites didn't work, the energy neither. but you can charge at the bathroom. the hot shower just worked for the women not for the men. but nice campground.

Report Check-In

Just entered the national park. Could get in with my 4x4, but you can only stay at camping 1 with the car

Road to this park is now under construction, so don’t listen to maps.me for the last 20km : you will go faster than that (for us 50-60km/h average). Hopefully in 1 year all will be asfalt :)
They stopped us 2km before entrance because « bad and steep road » so we had to walk. But to be fair it would have been ok for us even 2WD. High clearance is a plus.
Nice park, with toilets and benches everywhere. It was foggy so we didn’t see much, but the forest is really nice itself. If you want to camp inside you will have to show your camping stove and gas at the entrance (fire pits strictly forbidden) we could sleep in our van at the entrance, very quiet night !

Great campsite, lots of shaded private sites. As mentioned before it is still 5000pp entry to the park and 3000 per person per night. Park closes at 5pm so make sure you are here before then. The drive in from the main gate is rough but not sandy and if you have a high clearance 2wd it is no problem. Rangers here are very friendly and give you lots of information on the park. The hike to the plateau is well worth it, we only met a few other hikers and had the campground to ourselves during the week. There is no power/lighting at the sites currently but has power at the toilet blocks, this could just have been while we were here. Big rigs may have a little trouble squeezing into the sites here as they are quite compact. Well worth the trip here it is an amazing place.

Really beautiful, clean park with great hiking. We had perfect weather, but there was still 25 cms or so of snow on the trail at the top of Enadrillado. We were the only ones hiking or camping over a weekend in early spring. No hot water or electricity when we were here, though. No campfires.

Nice campsite and a good hot shower after a long days walk is a treat. The whole region has lots of bulldust and the csmpsite is no exception. I was a bit apprehensive about doing the walk to the platform on a saturday but I started early morning and was the only one untill I was up. Not only did I beat the crowds but also the heat of the day. On my way down a lot of sweaty faces going up. I was slightly disappointed with the view up on the platform. Yes you can see very far away and see many mountains but apart from that it is not that special. Chile has tons of better views so probably I’m spoiled. The hike itself is very nice.

Great camping ran by Conaf in the National Park. Didn’t need the 4wd drive, but were glad with the clearance on the rocky road from the park entrance to the camping. Had to choose a good flat spot for our rooftop tent, but got two really good nights for 3000 pesos a person a night (plus 5000 pesos park entrance fee). The hike to la enladrillado is long but very rewarding! Electricity and water at every spot. They check at the entrance if you have a gas/gasoline cooking stove with you. The ranger told us that without one + enough fuel for the time you want to spend in the NP, you are not allowed inside.

Report Check-In

We made it with our 2wd camper van :) The woman down on the first gate mentioned the bad road but let us through. But absolute limit with a 2wd. You have to know what you do. The place is very nice. It has 30 places which are separated by some small trees.

Report Check-In

Entrance to the camping by car is indeed, as previous comments stated, possible, but you really need a 4x4. Actually they only let you through if you have a 4x4.The road is verry rocky and bad.

We paid 5000 for the park and 3000 per day for the camping.

The camping itself is very nice with good facilities. At the time we stayed only the women showers had (sometimes) hot water.

The sites itself are very nice with power and a light (although at most sites there was no bulb in it). Each site has also there own water tab.

As we have a tent in our roof we needed a leveled spot. We only could find 2 or 3 good spots. If you only have a tent then no problem at all. Bigger campervans are out of the question (only the road allone is impossible).

Your are only allowed to cook with gas!

All in all a beautifull camping with nice hikes. Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

Note you need to arrive by 5pm if you want to pass the gate to drive to the campsite!! Otherwise as others said, although we thought the road was not too bad. Possibly due to end of season, but we had no warm showers, no running water in lots of taps and no light at our site. Still a highly recommended place and good value for your money.

Report Check-In

It's possible/allowed to enter with your car again to the campground, BUT i wouldn't try this without 4x4, we really needed it with our Land Rover. It's only a short drive from entrance gate 1 to entrance gate 2 ( a few hundred meters after gate nr.2 is the camping), but very rough, rocky and steep. Before the 2 entrancegates the gravelroad is good, going up slowly and don't need 4x4.
Camping is very good, still 3.000p/p, warm showers, electricity at sites. Big rigs probably won't fit here but can park next to the campground.
There is another camping further away into the reserva, about 7 km, but you have to hike.
The 22km walk "the Enladrillado" (to the ufo-landing-place and Laguna del alto) took us 10 hours, but worth it!!

Report Check-In

You can no longer drive past the park entrance gait. The campsite is still very nice, clean with hot showers, however you need to hike your gear in approximately 2.5km on foot. The rangers are very helpful and friendly here.

Report Check-In

You currently are not allowed to drive into the park. You can either park and walk the 3km or camp at the administration parking lot.

Report Check-In

now with warm showers! and yes the last 3km are not to much fun. I guess you shouldn't be much bigger than a truckcamper (otherwise you can camp outside the first gate for free). we can recommend the loophike to the laguna and the 'ufo landing place' approx 22km, elev gain approx 1000m, roundtrip approx 7-8hours. super friendly rangers

Report Check-In

the last 5km are really bad and big rigs without 4wd may not make it

Report Check-In

It's been snowing the last few days, so hikes are out of the question. We are the only ones here, but we're allowed to stay for free because of the weather. Was a slippery drive in with a foot or 2 of snow.

Report Check-In

Approx 1km from the gate. You have to ask a CONAF person to unlock the gate for you. You can't have fires in here, you must show them you have gas to cook with. Basic toilets and showers. Big rigs are going to have to park in the car park. Smaller campers might make it into some of the closer campsites.
