Description

A very nice, quiet campground in Delaware. A perfect spot for our first stop out of 4 on our first overlanding trip. There is no phone to call but there is a ranger there till 6pm to sign in with for the permit. there are 6 sites to choose from, 5 sites are drive up off a dirt road (yellow trail on the trail map), site #5 is hike in only but all others are drive up and the spaces are HUGE. you can have up to 6 vehicles and 25 people per campsite. Fire pit and grill, two tables and in a perfect heavily wooded area. I'll definitely be making a return here on future trip. Also the ranger is awesome, rides a Harley around in jeans and a t shirt, didn't realize he was a ranger at first haha, but very friendly. Unfortunately there was a bunch of trash when we first arrived but we did a quick site cleanup before setting up

Nice shaded campsites for tents and camper vans. Eight additional sites added in summer of 2023, for a total of sixteen.

Report Check-In

Nice simple flat campsites in the woods. Note; gps can lead you all over looking for this, you want to turn into the “state forest office” driveway.
You no longer pay at the office but have to register on the de.gov/forestcamping site.
$25 a night, 8 sites but site 8 is a group site.
Firewood available $5 for a generous bundle.

Report Check-In

Very nice and private primitive campsites. Make sure you arrive before dusk because there are no lights and no rangers in the evening.

Report Check-In

Lovely, quiet, private. Huge parking areas, much larger than number of cars allowed. Camped in snow. Road in plowed, parking area not. Some sites nicer than others.

Report Check-In

This campsite is a beautiful, well maintained remote campsite. limited staff did not see one employee the entire stay. no bathrooms , or water/electric hookups.
They seem to have recently changed the rules to not accommodate RTT in the campsites. we made due and set up in the designated parking space. For the $25 fee it was a nice place to stopover if you have a ground tent or do not mind setting up how we did. pictures will explain more.

Report Check-In

Open again, but not free. Camp sites are $25 a night.

A nice place, but closed because of COVID19
