as we can’t really make reservations ahead due to the fact that we are traveling and never know exactly when we will be where, we just showed up there on a Sunday at noon. We were greeted most friendly bz the only (!) staff member, no one else gehre, restaurant closed. On a Sunday. We could haven joined the museum tour at 3 pm, but the price?!? 11.500 pesos per person, about 22 €?!? Come on! Our friends tried to book a room which would include bodega tour, wine degustation and museum tour, but it was sold out for the next days. So we just stayed on the fancy parking lot and had lunch in our motor homes. Then we drove the very bad 14 km of “ripio” back to Molinos.
To sum it up: for us absolutely NOT worth it.

Really fancy winery with the most stunning museum ❤️

poshy wineyard. we were looking for some traditional local family vineyard but they seem all to be closed on Sunday, dont understand this, shops are open and entertainment and gastronomy closed? twisted here..

eldest wineyard in the country blabla, used to be. 15years new winehouse, some wineyards etc. poshy hotel, not our style really but still nice wineyard itself however showing off with historical relation did not impress.

for such a higher-end place 550ps 2h wine tour with 3 samples is a fair price but our tour took half an hour, interesting stuff especially given the guy was in his first week but half an hour and three samples is not for 550 come on.

beware the museum does not have anything related to wine, it is a museum of light art made by the owner, though an interesting figure. that was closed on Sunday.

we called a few hours ahead thanks to the contact here and there was space, only 4 people maybe due to the rain season which has not arrived yet as usually, but still. tour started at 16h

good wine and not overpriced

road leading there is a disaster and after rains can be impassable

for us not worth it. asked to buy grapes and were refused one day before harvest (which was the reason given) though they were just there and time was the last issue.

Very nice place to visit, the wine tour is very nice and insightful even if you've been on a few already. The wine is definitely good, lunch for 350 ARS and wine by the glass 110-140. The James Turrell museum is really great, we are not knowledgable in art or anything and were very positively surprised! Don't skip this place. The road is well maintained and it hardly ever rains so not to worry.

Fantastische Estancia und Hotel. Tolles Essen und tolle Weine. Unbedingt vorher anmelden oder Übernachtung buchen. Es ist relativ klein und die Mitarbeiter sind nicht rund um die Uhr verfügbar.

Reservation is a must!
550 Peso per person for a ~3h tour.
Welcome drink, James Turrell museum, Winery Tour and tasting of 3 wines.
We came here again after 10 years to see especially our most favorite “open sky” installation from James Turrell, which is amazing.
Unfortunately the Colomé staff did not allow us to stay until the late hours to enjoy this art work. They allow now only access for their hotel guests, which was out of our budget. Too bad...

We arrived too late for a tour of the bodega, but had a wine tasting with some cheese, salami and bread. It’s really important to make a reservation, as Pedro said: “we work like in Switzerland”.
He made an exception and showed us the museum, which was very impressive.

Beautiful drive definitely worth it. We didn't make a reservation and we showed up and had a tour in English and it was fine. Maybe on weekends a different story?

Absolutely worth the minor detour, especially when you're on a ripio section of RN40 anyway! The tours of both the bodega and museum were really interesting, and we also had lunch in the restaurant since we were early for the museum. The bife was cooked to perfection, and the grilled veges, goat cheese salad, and mousse de caña were also delicious.
Bodega tours begin at 11:30 and the Museum tour is at 15:00.
Wine tasting from $110pp/2 wines.

The actual opening hours as off late April 2017 are from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 until 18:00, Monday closed.
If the large entrance gate is closed ring the bell and they open it to drive through to the parking site at the visitors center.
Guided tours at Hess Art Collection Museum start at 15:00 and 17:00 and prior reservation is really advisable as only 12 persons per tour are allowed. Tours only take place in the afternoon as some of the art installations require special natural sunlight.

Great place for a winery-tour. It's the oldest winery in Argentina and has the world highest vineyard on over 3000 m above sea level. The Bodega and Museum are closed for visitors on mondays.

This vineyard / winery / museum is definitely worth the 20km drive on washboard - if you're passing through Cachi > Cafayate, or vice versa, you have to stop in. The setting is beautiful (would be even more stunning in fall/autumn when it's harvest time), and the history / story is really interesting. The wine is divine, tasting is 70 peso for 2 wines. I think you can do a tour of the winery whenever - we just turned up and were shown a film on history of vineyard, and then shown through winery. Didn't eat here, looked expensive but I bet it's amazing. The James Turrell museum is incredible - we are now a little obsessed with his work and can't believe that museum is free. They have really done an amazing job putting it all together. If you're there at 6pm you get to experience a special sunset installation! Luckily we were able to tag along on another tour but you usually have to book in advance - especially in high season! The staff are also amazing - super helpful and informative. Really recommend this place !!

An outstanding winery. We are not art bugs but the visit to the Turrell museum (only guided) was a extraordinary experience! Light installations which let you forget about limits and put you in infinite space! Well worth the detour along this winding but rewarding dirt track. Wine tasting 70.- or 340.- for 2 wines. Winery tour average. Winery tours at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Museum tours at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. All free. Restaurant very nice, Hotel upper class.

The museum was really fun although the guard takes his job a bit too seriously.
