This is a small turnout/trailhead. It could fit 2-3 vans if parked strategically. We spent 1 night here and had no problems. There are no “no” signs, just a closed and locked yellow gate at the entrance of the trail. 3 bars Verizon was able to work and connect to vpn. Not many visitors or people driving by. Decent spot to spend a night or two.
A good-sized dog park is located across the parking lot from a lovely, shaded park with bathrooms and picnic tables. Separate areas for big dogs and small dogs. We filled our 2 3-gallon water jugs from a spigot in the big dog park. We couldn't find any places where a hose could be hooked up. Cute park and place to enjoy lunch!
We didn’t camp here but had lunch here. Very large pullout (and good 10-20 meters from the main road. Amazing views over the cañon. Only downside is you’re not hidden from the roadside. But still a good spot.
Italian restaurant with a campground. Camping in own tent or vehicle is 10$ pppn. The ablution block for campers is currently under work but should be finished soon.
The tented lodges are 35$ per night ad can accommodate 2 persons. Toilets and and shower for each tented lodge, hot water from a donkey boiler.
The restaurant is only open from Friday to Sunday but you can eat delicious Italian food (pizzas between 100 and 150 kwacha) and you can also buy cheese from the farm there.
It is a quiet place not far from the main road about 50 km north of Lusaka. The managers, Claire and Cath, are very friendly and helpful, we felt like home during our three nights stay.
Safe parking area for overnight camping with wifi, water, restrooms, cctv and many other services.

Planinska Koliba mountain refuge. It can be reached by car but you will need 4wd and/or confidence in rocky conditions as the road is quite tough for the last 2 miles. walking and bikes would be fine. the mountain cabin shows beds and we could see a kitchen inside but when we visited (June 2022) the place was closed, so perhaps its only open in winter? the main gate was open and nothing indicated that it was forbidden to camp.
We stopped for one night and nobody disturbed us. views of the mountains and Split below are amazing.
Before getting to the train station there is a spot with a table that's good for camping. It's near the road but there's almost no traffic. We camped with our tent and it was a super quiet night.
Ballintoy. Big car park behind pub. Ask at bar. They expect you to eat and drink there in return for free camping. NO facilities. Car park is fairly flat at the bottom end. Bus stop to Giants Causeway is across the street. NO MOBILE SIGNAL in village. Wifi in pub is good.

state forest primitive campground. super quiet, semi-shady, pretty private sites. tents only but stayed in honda odyssey minivan no problem. no water, port-a-johns. little pond full of fish attracts lots of birds. must register online to reserve. $16 per night
A river crossing that is impassable, even with 4X4. We did the walk test beforehand, and the water came up the top of my thighs, and I‘m 6 ft tall! Probably OK in dry season but wouldn’t attempt in the rainy season. Big detour for us! So, make sure you check with Google first.
There are a handful of bins at this location where you can drop off your food scrapes/waste. Make sure you follow the accept and not accepted signs to not mess up their compost.
It's about a mile in from the pavement on the left. On your way in, stay left at the first fork. Follow signs to Picture Frame Arch. Some parts of the road are bumpy but take it slow.
beautiful high ground for 2 or 3 class b or smaller plus room for tents. we got our aluminum boat in by elbow grease but no problems for canoes or kayaks as there is a path/ramp. several great spots all along this road. road in is long 30-40 mins but not bad. no fish biting or jumping. atv's come through once in awhile
