artisticcrystallography80 | This was a beautiful spot but we had to pack it up and leave at 9:30 pm to stay at Walmart in town because there was a guy screaming and banging on his camper for hours and just didn’t feel safe.

Wilma.TheWhale | Police guys sitting as the side of the road whistled at us to stop. He wanted to check our TIP paper and the drivers passport which he took pictures of and had a quick glance in our van, he returned our TIP and we could continue. Little did we know, that was the start of the terrible road, if they had told us we would have turned back and gone to the other border |

Wilma.TheWhale | Absolute rubbish, the road to get here from Toulepleu is awful, a mud track intented only for motorbikes and maybe confident 4x4 drivers, it took us hours. We came with our 2wd LWB Sprinter and had to have locals dig us out the mud twice & there was a very bad bridge that I had to rearrange the planks of wood and had genuine fear that it was going to collapse when we crossed. Made it to the border and it was quiet, easy enough, they take pictures of everything, all documents, us and the car and they let us exit Ivory coast. Guiglo to Blolequin road is in poor condition. I wouldn't recommend this route as the road continues to be nonexistent and muddy into Liberia - see my post on Liberia border |

Wilma.TheWhale | We parked just after the bridge and walked to the immigration. Easy process, just slow as they don't have many foreigners passing, they write down every possible piece of information. Another guy came and took away our passports to stamp, then we got sent to another guy who again writes down all the details into a different book then we could continue to customs. Entering Liberia with our right hand drive car, Richard the chief, who was drinking beer and playing American 80's love songs, tried to make it a problem for us, saying it's illegal to enter Liberia with a right hand drive car and we need to go back. I said we drove from England, that's how it came out of the factory and it's safe. We argued for a bit and then I said I want to talk with his boss, he called him and the boss told him to give us the temporary import paper, he was nice after that. They had no interest in checking our car, we didn't have any CDP or lassier passer. The TIP was free and valid for 30 days. The road to Toe town in late April is not possible with 2wd, huge pools of water and mounds of mud. We did try on our own but decided to turn back and ask in a local village for help. Turns out they have two heavy duty diggers as they run the local logging business. We came to an agreement for them to drag us through the mud with a digger all the way to Toe town. It was late so we slept in their village and continued in the morning. We paid a lot, but it was the only option to pass the road, initially they asked for 150 dollar & we settled on 100 euros. Expensive but that's what we have our emergency money for |

conchscooter.blogspot.com | As of April 2024 the information in the previous entry is correct and pretty much up to date. The front door guard is still annoying but the staff inside are extra helpful and you still have to go to get your vehicle and papers I directed across town. |

TornadoTim | Very helpful, we wrote on WhatsApp and she mentioned that she can send an agent to the Victoria Falls border to get the insurance there directly. We didn’t have internet over the weekend so it didn’t work out, but we managed to leave the border without insurance and came here directly afterwards. We got local Zambian insurance and a Comesa yellow card for 1208 Kwacha valid for a month. |

intagram.com/la_cantaria_errante | From Estancia Cerro Guido, stay on Road 9. You'll have an alternative trail crossing río las Chinas on your right (just for you to get water). Keep going on the 9 until the entrance of the previous spot and cross the "cattle bridge". You'll have to go up on a steep hill. When it seems to be flat again, before crossing a water evacuation, turn on you right on a grassy flat trail and keep going to stay between the piles of rocks.
