robjansenphotography.com | we contacted Fransisco via Whatsapp and he replied in ok English. The price for a private your for 2 people was ridiculous: 1700R$ for 8 hours. Even though the country knows quite some inflation and fuel prices went up big time compared to previous check-ins below, this is way above the average that is asked by other companies. It seems like Fransisco himself is actually working at another place, and this is the price for a friend of his. Too much for us at least. |

hourlesslife.com | Accidental and wonderful find. We met Eduardo in town, and he invited us to camp on his property. It’s a place with cabanas, a really good restaurant, and a boat launch. We camped right by the launch, but to the side so people could still pass. We were here Monday and Tuesday nights and it was so peaceful. I’m guessing it’s not as peaceful on the weekend. There is a bathroom to use closer to the restaurant, and a water spigot there (it’s hiding between the restroom and event room). No shower that we know of. At the restaurant, we recommend the pizza (after 2 pm), burger, Buffalo chicken sandwich, and poboy sandwich. Free to camp if you eat at the restaurant. Decent WiFi at restaurant. Lots of flies one of the two days we were there, but no mosquitos. Excellent place for bird watching and listening. We camped in our Jeep Gladiator. |

chrisbettencourt | Kinda odd but beautiful. I was uncomfortable because I have no idea what this land is or who owns it. No private property or no trespassing signs. People obviously come up here (,glass, spend shotgun shells, fire rings). Got through the night peacefully. Definitely not for big rigs. However my 21' class B+ is 25' at least with bikes and front hitch and I managed. |

NinjasInTheUSA | Large parking area on a hilltop overlooking Truckee. View from some points. No parking signs. We parked about 100m away from Cottonwood Restaurant. Very peaceful except for the train at 7am (I think the whole of Truckee can hear it). Would recommend 👍 |

Snow & Curt | This seems to be the only office in Jaen that can issue insurance to foreigners. They used to be able to issue insurance right away, but the lady is telling us that now it takes 2 days. Since the pandemic, all policies are completed in the larger cities. We arrived at the office at 8am on Wednesday and we will get our insurance documents on Thursday at 4:00. The price is $279sol for three months (2018 Mercedes sprinter 170 extended). The office is right on the main highway with easy parking... even for bigger rigs. |

huber.lynn | Spent a quite night here, only a few cars, cows and sheeps passed by. You can stay more or less weherever you want on this road. Lots of space also for big rigs and some grassy areas for tents. Felt very safe, locals waved when passing by. Simple but good and not so high in altitude as the spot in laguna Quilotoa. Recommendable |

martinlrg | It is a wonderful place, incredibly close to the city to encounter such a peaceful place in pure nature. Lots of flowers attracting birds of many kinds. For me it is about sitting in the garden and enjoy some coffe and relax. Gloria Patricia is a great host and makes you feel very welcomed from the beginning.

harrisonsmith835 | Stayed here two nights. Nice and quiet, beautiful view, better than paid campsites, heaps of fire wood. A few other campers in the others spots but they are not close together. Not too steep to get into but wouldn’t come here in a bus sized vehicle. |

Traktorbek | There are two workshops here that belong together. The owner is the same. "Hard Auto" is for quick, small things. "TSS" is for slightly bigger repairs. They did the oil change and filter change in 20 minutes. A second time I had the rubber seals of the windows changed there, which took two days. I saw two Defender. |
