very wide open field surrounded by nice hills. easy access for any vehicule by a multitude of paths - GPS point at the entry of one of them from the main road. place is used by locals too, lots of remains of bonfires, some trash but way less than in other spots in the region, because the open area is so vast. no water, some shade, a couple of horses when we were there. very nice at sunset!

Next to state park (SP). Came to SP and it was full. After driving through it we found the lot and another van camper. We left early and had no issues. No signs against camping here. We used the toilet at the SP when we drove through and thought we would be paying for a spot. Nice restrooms, coin operated showers and laundry if you do get a spot there.

A resturant and pub with large parking space. Nice trees, no facilities. But they let us park overnight.

Despite the name there is actually accommodation here, restaurant, bar where buses and trucks stop in between Mwanza, Arusha, Dodoma and Dar.

However the friendly English speaking manager Laizer let me pitch my roof tent in the parking lot for 20,000/= shillings approximately 10 USD. There is obviously the restaurant where you can get dinner and breakfast and there are toilets facilities.
There is also good security

A decent place option if you’re in the road and need somewhere to stay before it gets dark.

We had dinner here and spent the evening until it got dark. Beautiful little quiet spot, but very clearly has a big sign saying NO Overnight Camping. So we drove off when it got dark and slept somewhere else.

Previous descriptions and directions are correct. Take first left dirt road after crossing over railroad tracks. Take smaller left dirt road up slight grade
Road was a bit overgrown, but we snuck our 12ft tall Unimog down it. Drive all the way to the end. Road will descend down to railroad tracks. Large open spot by edge of lake. Four trains overnight. No Verizon.

I was driving west from Sedona. Very happy to stumble across this place shortly after sunset. Bathrooms and shower plus other stuff wasn't open (pool game room)

A good place, has all the amenities you would want while traveling with a camper. Good wifi. Quiet at night. We payed 26€ for camper and 2 adults, with electricity.

Nice very clean area on a small river. Very quiet. Lots of room. Had no probs getting our 22 ft C Class down the access road slowly. A bit rougher in the campground but no probs there either.

Nice. Far enough from road so noise not much of an issue. Open area, no trees but grand views surround. 4 bars mobile signal.

Nice spot to camp and a beautiful view from the city and castles.
Quiet and peaceful.
The small little Rocky track is not recommended to big rigs. Better a 4 x 4, camper or small van.

Great experience here just as OP and others have posted. Actually if you plan to use the thermal pools and/or Waterpark the pricing has been combined and is actually less expensive. 100 pesos per person for 5pm to 7pm next day (if you arrive early first day is 160pp SEE IMAGES). Also the bridge HAS BEEN BUILT. Geat stopover. Read other posts please, they are accurate with exception of my updates.

Gas station with good structure for overnight stay. There is good restaurant, bathrooms and parking lot (better to park far from the highway to avoid a lot of noise from cars)

Forgot to report that there is a strong 3g Telcel signal. You need to be within 20 feet of what looks like a small lamp hanging near the dining table in the store. Wifi is 50pesos 8 hours per device. Both are slow around 800kbps never over 1mbps.

Nice campground with lovely people, the mother doesn’t seem to speak English very well, but she is very helpful. The view is beautiful!

This place is beautiful, absolutely stunning. Not big rig friendly, car or minivan. High Clearance 4x4 only. If you don’t have that there are plenty of spots along the gravel road to the top but the last 300 Yards is High Clearance Only.

The staff could be a bit more friendly but other than that this place is great. Hidden behind a sand dune this well organised caravan park as mention before has all you need for a comfortable stay

9-10-2020 security was impossible to find and no stores have the number. Waited over an hour and they were confused and said we could stay but had to park way in back and be gone by 6am. No one in the entire plaza knew anything.

This is one of the best sites we have ever found on IKamper. Truly a hidden gem. High clearance is a must but 4wd isn’t needed.
