giantdromedary13 | We drove in right before sunset on a Sunday evening! we have a truck camper, so we were looking for a place to stay. We drove by signs and read signs that said we would have to pay $10. Unfortunately there is no website, so be sure to bring $10 cash! Trust me it’s worth it for the views, hiking, and peace and quiet. |

mutig-los.ch | An amazing place to camp. Thank you for posting it. To get there as said, good 4x4 skills necessary. Easier from the village in the north., but the road is narrow, too. In the morning we saw chinchillas and eagles in the rocks. |

hi | Good place for a night or two, everything seems clean. Wanted 60 soles for a matrimonial, talked them down to 50. WiFi with good download and bad upload speeds. Staff very nice, they’ll let you use the kitchen, stove, pots etc. Hot water only from 7pm on.

jose | First come first serve camping on Magazine Mountain. We went into the Visitor Center to ask about camping and they told us that all the camping spots were taken and to use recreation.gov for reservations. As we were walking out, she mentioned, unless you want no hook ups. Then there's primitive camping spots here, as she points to the map, and she said it's ok to camp in our van. We drove there and there were some tents, and a couple of truck campers, and best of all, a couple of open spots, one of which could easily fit or 24' van. There's nice put toilets and trash cans. No water, but one could probably go into the full hook up sure about 1 mile away to get water. Great Verizon signal. Tons of hiking trails. |

felixhagem | Seems like they don't allow vehicles up to this point, anymore. You should spend the night at the pin "Free Parking". The other place is way quieter, anyway. (no dogs or roosters at night)

bueno_va | We spent a night here after crossing the border. It is a small and very quiet town. It parks in the main square, we feel very safe. The square has electricity, drinking water, bathrooms in the mayor's office and there is the police station. The town is very nice, it has many typical graffiti from Honduras! |

Jan | 2 large pull outs along a small dirt road off buckhorn road. Right side of the road is private property (some cattle ranch) but the pull outs are before the no trespassing sign. Just follow the road along until you see a y-crossing. Right is private, the road continues left. Amazing views, mostly level. We could reach the spot with our 25ft RV even though it was a tiny bit narrow due to some bushes. |

primitivecompost39 | Wind was blowing in every direction. We chose a spot on the east of the island for photographing the milky way in the middle of the night. Too windy for our RTT until 9pm, so we catnapped in the car until then. No other cars at the idland, saw maybe two others drive by in the early evening. There was a more sheltered area near a cave, but it was on the west side, so it wasn't a good spot for photography as the island would have blocked the milky way arch. Glad we did it, definitely a singular experience. But the wind was no joke. |

Ellieandthefamily | Cool place with a very delicious restaurant. We also had the lobster and it was tasty. They have homemade rum with ananas and sell the bottle. The parking space is in front of the restaurant and not really special and no view, but the beach is just a few meters down. The shower is outdoor and not really hidden. Many Moskitos in the evening. Very friendly owner family. |

Mad or Nomad | This is a brilliant place to stay in Patzcuaro! Firstly, my wife and I are on two motorcycles, so find a hotel with parking in the Patz was a nightmare - it's all on the street, so we checked iOverlander and found this one - although the last check in was 2 years ago we found the place on Google and the phone number and called. Jaime speaks decent English and said we could park our bikes inside. It's his family home that he converted into a hotel. It's 400 for a room with shared bathroom or 500 for a private. there's WiFi, secure parking inside his place and he is the friendliest guy ever! The place is at the top of the hill, so you'll walk about 5 minutes down to get to the centre. All feels super safe, he said he's never had a problem in 20 years here. There's also a communal area so you can prepare food. Really happy we found this place and we ended up staying more nights. :) |

Mad or Nomad | What an awesome campsite!!! Exceptionally well run by Denise (who along with her partner are lovely people). Very relaxed atmosphere full of overlanders, swimming pool, WiFi, shade, restaurant, hot showers and a great atmosphere. This is definitely an overlanders hub in Mexico and you must stay here! It's brilliant! 😁 we paid 250 pesos total for two motorcycles and one tent. the restaurant is up and running - and delicious. Make sure you walk into town and buy some fresh cut mangos with lime from the lady in the cart by the main square - 15 pesos!!! amazing |
