Not the prettiest beach in Baja, but it is a beach. Lots of rocks at first, but the actual beach to ocean is great. Not too many sea critters by the shore, so easy swimming. Saw dolphins multiple times in our 24 hour stay. Had some hippies partying in a van only a football field away- music until 2:30 AM so that was annoying. Other than that, free oceanfront stay.

6.000 ARS für 2 Personen mit Campervan. Leider immernoch Baustelle.

This lot was great for my Chevy Passenger Bus! I called ahead to make sure they allow overnight parking and they said yes. The employee I spoke with was very sweet and just asked that we didn’t stay the whole day after. We got in about 10:30pm and there was a policeman parked off to the side, and another van in the row behind the restaurant. Some road noise from the highway but minimal (and our bus is not very sound proof). Left around 7am and would happily stay here again, felt very safe and was able to get gas right next door! The hill behind the restaurant kept the truck stop noise at bay too.

Did not go to very top of hill because there are some beautiful sites on the way up with flat areas and fire rings. Joined by 2 other campers with a-lot of distance between us. Very rutted on the way up in our class c but did not bottom out. We noticed dear legs and fur under a tree with a wire going across. kinda creepy when we noticed a pricy game camera looking directly at us. House across the road. We suspect the homeowners are poaching deer. Also suspect they are intentionally making the ruts to discourage campers on this BLM land.

Came here for the second time this year, started this road trip where we left the last one. One of my favourite wild camping spots so far in four years of iOverlander. Camped in the first spot on the right last time but the one a bit further on the left is great too.

Incredible valley with more than 80 active geysers and 3 thermal pools. Much better than Tatio. Worth the detour and the dirt track.

The gravel road starts from Candarave heading north to the joint of 36A. Up to Candarave from Tacna is a perfect tarmac road.

Spent a quiet night here, parked by the garden center. Plenty of room and a few semi trucks stayed the night also.

Forest Clearing of a side road to 535 with a Fire Pit, lots of downed trees to find firewood, and flat space for a van.

Road is pretty rough, definitely be careful of clearance on the last bit.

It's the first spot on the left after you turn onto FS 6012

Great spot in an expensive and safe neighbourhood. The security patrols all night long. We spent a week on this street, along with several other campers. The toilets are free and open 24/7. They are situated at the park entrance, just after the large paid parking.

This is the campground of hostal aya huma. I’ll add a picture of how to get there from the high way with a big rig and one of the gate. Just message Tuamari before you come: +593 98 688 1459

A very special place and unique chance to visit a local community. The town is fun to walk around and there is a beautiful park, playground, waterfall just a short walk away. The Temazcal ceremony is once a month and definitely worth a visit.

Camping is $5 a night.

Grovedale Fish Pond Day Use Area located 30km south of Grande Prairie on the Hwy 40.
Easy access from the hwy, well marked with a sign.
Flat parking lot, clean washrooms with tp.
It seems that you can camp overnight in the parking lot and I would say also on the grass in front of the pond. Flat ground, picnic table and fire ring, wood provided. A nice place, really!
Quiet, a little bit close to the hwy but no major issues regarding the noise.

This place belongs to the military Zone and shooting area. There are signs in Persian warning the shooting. Keep away. There is a laundry shop in the city Quchan and the owner will take you to his big garden in nice nature outside the city for free. Just go to him. We were in his garden for one night and enjoyed his family hospitality without being bordered by them or anyone or police.

Did not realize it was closed. Talked to border patrol agents who were parked there and they told me I could spend the night. The ranger that knocked at 6 said he didn’t care what Border Patrol said and to get out. No signs indicating you can’t stay here, but the general vibe of the San Diego area is hostile towards car camping.

This old wagon road comes to an apparent end a short walk from this site. No one came down this road while we were here. Very quiet...just the Meadowlarks and distant hwy traffic in the distance. Definitely not a good spot when the ground is wet--Its like gumbo soup. Able to drive a commuter car to this location. Verizon signal connects sporadically.

Great place! If you want the short version of the Panaramic Drive just stay at this place and add in the The Three Rondavels. Done. The restaurant is really nice with great staff, great food and a relaxed decor overlooking the valley. The pool gets iOverlander Best Infinity Pool nomination!

Nice and talkative English owner who washed our bikes after riding the salar. This included cleaning with water, blasting air through every little space there is and treating the whole bike with anti rust. We just helped to dissamble our bikes but used his workshop and tools for it.
100 Bs per bike seem a lot but in our opinion it is worth it.
He also organizes motorcycle and bicycle tours and gave us a lot of important information about riding in the salar.
Better call ahead because sometimes he is out guiding the tours.
