I don't know if you can get a better, more scenic campsite than this! And next to walking trails, oh my. But this place is HOPPING closer towards the weekend. We snagged this on a Wednesday mid-day. If we were 30 minutes later, it would have been taken. LOTS of traffic trying to find sites from later Wed-Sun. It can get pretty windy, so mind your awnings if you use them.

I found this place on my way to Casablanca.
In a bend of the road there is a barrier with an opening to let people pass. You will see traces of a path.
Super quiet, nice view, beautiful stars during night and the sun straight on my tent in the morning.

We started the hike from AlegrĂa town (that trail wasn't steep), we get the viewpoint las antenas and then we hiked down through the other path (that one was very steep but we did it walking down on our way back) so we walked almost all around the rim, good hike and nice views, really recommend it.

I pulled in here two nights ago. I was in a 2023 Ford Transit. I’d just gone to bed when I got “the knock”. It’s not signed, but there is no overnight camping here. The two sheriffs deputies were very nice and directed me to the weigh station a few hundred feet away where I spent an uneventful night.

The road to go up there was pretty easy. No need of a 4x4, pretty much any car can go wihtout any problem. Not the nicest spot that ive seen. Its a flat for maybe 4-5 rig’s across the FSR. Not very clean, few broken bottle of beer and other debris around. Too many disperse fire pit, make it look a bit trash. Okay for one night but would probably not coming here again. The view is good but not wow.

What a wonderful place to camp at. At P197pppn it offers a lot. Power, washing up facilities, own ablution facility with a huge campsite under high trees.
No traffic noise, nothing just the bird chattering in the trees.
Came for 1 night, stayed 4....

Convenient stop, plenty of shops to get everything we’ve been needing to grab, stayed near the garden centre to grab the wifi from the building store across the road.

Great Tranquil sandy bushcamp with big trees for shade. Each stand has a braai bin. No electricity weak internet signal. Flush toilet with hot water donkey shower. Very friendly owner also gives a tour of mesosauros fossils. Will definitely like to camp here again.

great o wright spot. hot springs muddy and not to my taste but flat, silent, beautiful views. just dont approach direct from hwy 50. The correct way is via the hwy running north/south to Tonapah. Found this out the hard way.

Free picnic area. Tables, trash cans, grills, palapa (shade structure). Not much else. Replica stage coach stop was interesting for a few minutes. A butte right across I10 makes for an interesting view. No sign prohibiting overnight camping. It was 10 o’clock in the morning so I couldn’t stay and spend the night.

Nice little spot. We stayed overnight and it was very peaceful.
Metro still has phone service.

Don’t forget there is camera because of people being disrespectful. So be Kind.

Another nice Texas rest area. Trash cans, picnic tables, grills a bathroom with running water and this one’s far enough east that there are trees! Definitely worth a stop to spend the night. I was here quite early in the day, so I did not spend the night. I assume there’s probably quite a bit of road noise fromI10

Nice spot! We had a quiet night without any problems. It’s right off the interstate but it’s far enough away the noise isn’t too much of a bother. The view isn’t anything to write home about but it’s a better night stay then the north bound story city rest stop that doesn’t allow overnights. What good is a rest stop if you’re not allowed to rest?
