This is a hidden jewel in Central Louisiana... Beautiful pristine lake with abundant fishing... No Motors Allowed... There is nice clean restrooms but no shower... Cell service is adequate & they do have a convenience store nearby with ice & gas as well as some groceries..

Equestrian and regular camping, mostly tent sites not rig friendly. Many sites are closed for the winter but a few are still open. $30/ night self registration but it’s an unmaintained campground in the winter. Halfway decent cell service, water pump, and pit toilets that are closed in winter. It seems like some sites are kinda one site split into two, so that may be uncomfortable if it’s a packed night

There is no one around to check in with. sign says campers park here and there is a dog park right next to the parking lot. The larger park has pickle ball courts and hiking. On a quiet country road. Just one night. Very nice and greatly appreciate it.

Location is wrong. Correct coordinates is -2.2850481, -78.7700894. The price is $7 for a dorm bed. I am a cyclist and when I arrived, I was told that all the rooms were full. I have my camping gear and so they basically let me camp in a room they were not using for $5. Shared bathrooms are dirty. They said they have hot shower but when I was there, the water pressure was not good at all. No towel, no soap, no toilet paper provided. They do have wifi. Overall it's an ok place, but I wouldn't call it a good place. It was very hard to find a place to camp in this town in the rain, and other hostels were also weird, so I ended up here to escape from the rain. But I wouldn't stay here again.

I crossed today heading south. I got there at 8AM and I was the ONLY overlander there.
Everyone was SUPER polite and helpful. I'm sad there are not more of us on the road but ...

As others have mentioned I also ran into two roadblocks on 190 headed towards the border.
At the first one, I hung back to see what was going on the cars were all getting stopped, and I assume were being asked for donations.

Locals on motorcycles were filtering around so I tucked in with them.

At the 2nd one I was alone, but was allowed to pass on after a couple minutes - as a result of my bad Spanish (that.... is a hint)

Nice spot at the beach. Good view and children playground. Good point : No coast guard asked us to leave and we could stay all night long. Maybe because it was Thursday night and a lot of locals were here. Bad point: a lot of noise with children playground until 4 in the morning …. So if you stay here, stay far from the playground ;)

supermarket with good stock! 2 floors. no fresh things. no cheese. no vegetables. Everything else available. prices are ok.

This is a lovely spot. Grassy area for tents. We are the only ones here right now. There were some people in the pool earlier. It looks very inviting. La Huerta will help you find it on Maps. The restaurant was closed when we arrived, we'll try it for breakfast.

Nice ocean side parking and camping area. Quite a steep windy hill to get down, but we made it with our big Hiace van. Has toilet and kitchen area. Noisy boats passing, dangerous current so no swimming. Amazing view of the islands and another toilet nearby with hot water in the handicap bathroom and showers in the summer.

Located near the city center the hotel has a very big and safe parking space behind the hotel. Hotel standard is average. Breakfast very good. we paid approx. 80 Euro for a double via booking.com. If you book the hotel directly it is cheaper.

Nice place! Make sure to walk through the door labeled „garden“. You will find out why this place’s second name is „garden eden“.
Showers electrically heated, so early morning showers possible. Early morning leaves only if you let the owner know beforehand. We wanted to leave at 8 and found the gate to be closed and had to find the sleeping owner to get out :-)

You can also sleep in your vehicle in the yard. Yard is a big small, so you should know how to drive to get in/out, but we had no problem with our 2,40m wide van. 2,60m is the maximum width. If unsure, park on the street and walk down to see first.
Price per couple in car/van/tent is still 250Dh, including half pension.
Food is good and plenty.

That's literally on the asphalt road. I wouldn't camp here.

Simply rooms with bathroom and mosquito net. Friendly people and shops and restaurants nearby. 10000 tsh. Other opcions in the town but 25000 or 30000 tsh.

A camper is 10.000. If someone tells you otherwise, e.g. because your camper is heavier than 5t, they are wrong.
After arguing with the young woman at the counter, we were sent to "the" yellow building, where an older gentleman called the young woman and told her that she's wrong. So instead of 30 minutes we needed over one hour to cross the border.

Buy a SIM-card first (4.500 for 30 days unlimited), then go to aswa.am and buy the insurance (7.000 for 30 days) or use a VPN.

very close to elefant rock but very quiet. you have a track to follow from elefant. you can camp under big boulders which provide good shadow until noon ;-) (end of April). nice landscape and desert feeling. it was our base camp in Alula. we camped here 3 nights.
only 3 cars passed in 3 days.

One spot at the gate, expansive views, peaceful. Driveway from gate to the castle parking lot is not maintained and the branches are too low, they make it hard to get there. The castle is open, ticket office trashed. Nobody around.
Still- a nice place for the night.

WARNING: We were asked to leave at 8:30pm by a very angry local. He repeatedly showed us his large knife in his pocket as he told us to "respect the rules and leave". As politely as we could, we told him we will pack up and leave. This wasn't quick enough for him and he expected us to drive off that second. We quickly put our dishes away and drove off. This was our first unfriendly interaction in 1 year of travelling in Chile/Arg.

We were politely told by the police that there is no place to park and stay in this town outside of the two designated camp areas. They continually check the areas on ioverlander.
