Super nice place to stay. There are few clean parking spots not beside the church, but just beside the road. Quiet. Safe. Nobody in the night.

Great breakfast spot if you're staying at one of the hotels/hostels in this area. $4.50-5.75 for a really nice breafast. The coffee is great too.

RV Dump station at West bound rest area. It is located as you are exiting the rest area so if you want to use the bathroom or get out and walk, park first then dump as you are leaving because once you get to the dump stay you can’t get back into the parking area.

Nice view! But the camping ist not leveled (even for small camper terrible), there are NO showers, just the possibility to buy water to wash (I didn’t use). The price for camping was 70.000. Way too much I think.
Wifi is ok.

I couldn’t find a place that OP put nearby and kept driving across the river to another side. This opening is away from houses across the river, very quiet, river is clear and flowing for an amazing bath in the morning.
Lots of shade, and lots of bugs
Some locals pass by, but everyone is friendly

The garden of Regula, where we could stay with our campervan, is a small oasis. Very calm and relaxed atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Ismail brought us fresh pomelos and tomatoes from the garden. We highly recommend this place to stay

Gates still closed but the guard on the other side of the road (near the park) called at us and opened the gate. Nice little park but the Adam tree itself is just a dead piece of wood.

The pin is not in the richt location. Walk a bit north along the Tigris.

Kuwait > Iraq

First window at Kuwait side is customs for carnet stamp. Took a bit longer for us due to new software system on their side.

Second window nothing but after this window you have go inside the building on the right for passport check. They keep green permit and visa.

Then continue to final gate where passport is checked for Kuwait exit stamp.

Iraq side quite easy. At first gate they check your documents and do superficial car check. Right after the gate (before roundabout) go to window on the left side. Here they write down some info about you and your car. Go to the office behind the window for something with your passport (no fees here).

Then continue to roundabout and park on right side. Go to most left container for carnet. Then second from the right container for insurance. Then go to banking office by foot. This is somewhere in the middle of the compound, 200 meters or so away from the roundabout. Here we paid +/- $27 for carnet processing. Then back to the roundabout for 3 sets copies (most right container) (paid 5.000 IQD). Go back to most left container for gate pass and leave one set of copies there.

Then drive to passport building which is clearly visible from roundabout. Go inside and take immediate left to get your visa. Fees for visa including processing: $79, 1.000 IQD, 2.000 IQD (creditcard only, no cash!). Once you have the visa go to the other windows inside the same building for last stamp.

Get back in your car and drive towards exit. There they keep last 2 sets of copies and the gate pass and do another superficial car check.

Here is where you enter one of the most popular trekking of Valle de las Ánimas. There is a chain in the road and most people leave their car before of it. If you want to cross with your car there is a community fee of BOB 30 for it (entrance is free for people). We crossed the chain, paid the fee and ask the lady if could sleep there in the entrance, “no problem” she said. There is only one spot for medium vans but maybe you could find more into the Valle. We did the trekking the next day, it is beautiful. Good Entel reception.
