Nice Spot, hidden from the road. Sometimes a little Internet.

Super quiet spot, perfekt after the border. Some locals passed by, at the next morning a man starts a big fire near to us (50mtr)

Unfortunately, we had a group of young men with a Gondwana Guide Car at the campsite and until 3 o clock in the night loud music and party.. the gate is very noisy and permanently cars come in and out.. no peaceful sleep.. the food was also awful.. cold and not fresh.. if you find another place go there! 150 NAD pppn

Very nice wild camp.
We arrived late around 17h30. We saw nobody.
Just saw people passing in the morning.
Very quiet night.

If you continue the little road after the camp you pass by very nice little village with super nice houses. We ask people if they allow us to take pictures of the houses. It wasn’t a problem.

We were able to buy 5 or 10 liter bottles of water here.

Nice place to drink beer and have some food. We had a couple of beers and some nachos, tacos with beans and a vegetarian burger. The food was great, as well was the beer. The atmosphere, sitting outside under a big tree reminds us of home (German Biergarten).

very little road noise, lots of space for tents. there are some benches on the east side of the slope that are almost out of view of the road if you want a little more privacy. tap didn't work, toilet was unlocked.

Moto club guys would zip about on their scooters but kept to themselves, no music.

Beautiful hilltop place right next to rock needles. Amazing view in all directions

Stayed here for one night. No one bothered me. If the golf course bathroom is locked, Freeman's Pharmacy nearby has a public washroom and when I stayed there was a porta potty in the harbour area.

Went to this hostel today and found it deserted, gate was open but no signs of life at all. Looked abandoned.
walked right through the building, it's a pretty rough sort of place.

Fabulous hostel in traditional building in the old town.
very lovely inside, everything is beautiful and the staff a super friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is included and there is free coffee, tea and lemonade.
there is a small summer kitchen with limited facilities.
34lev per night in a 4 bed room.
no on site motorcycle parking but I could park the bike on the foot path across the road. there is no traffic in the old town so pretty safe.

Place next to the road. Good for one night.

if you want to drink the water, consider it is salty!

Great spot! Checked in with security up front and they gave me a pass for my dash once I signed in. Even walked out of the casino with an extra $30! Really liked this spot. Parked along the water.

crossed the bridge early in the morning around 7am and no one here asking for money.

This is the beginning of the track to Mayo Wurbo border crossing. The track is bad and has some extremely challenging parts. some mud and some steep rocky sections. Google gives a completely inaccurate timing. we got from serti to mayo daga in one long day of driving. took us around 11 hours with breaks. need 4x4 with low gear box and high clearance. mud tyres too ideally. did this route on 13th may 2024 in modified Toyota Hilux with mud tyres and low gear box. managed well, ideally would have benefited from increased clearance. after mayo daga the track improves and is decent up to the border. on Cameroon side the roads are even worse and there are 3 river crossings, deep mud and steep rocky sections.

no one here asking for anything. just let us straight through.

very friendly immigration officers. quick and easy process. asked for Cameroon eVisa printed. stamped passport out of Nigeria. even let us take pictures.

asked for laissez-passer and stamped it out. took 1 minute. no CPD

Toyota Hilux 2010 invincible (4WD low gear box, mud tyres)

near side of stream maybe 50m stretch of deep mud. some momentum and managed without too much difficulty, but don't stop moving. steep bank down to river. river itself had around 10cm depth of water over concrete surface which has been laid in river to assist crossing. no issues crossing at all. far side of river had long steep muddy slope. with some speed here managed without any problems.

Toyota Hilux 2010 invincible (4WD low gear box, mud tyres)

near side of bridge large area of deep mud. Took one of the bypass roads on the right but still had mud. some momentum and managed without too much difficulty. The bridge itself is now fixed but was covered in thick mud. Just before the bridge the mud is thick and slippery and caused us to slide towards the right edge of the bridge. Took a few re-alignments to get into the mud ruts in centre of bridge. Kept some momentum across bridge and up far side which was steep and muddy. Managed to get up first time luckily.

Toyota Hilux 2010 invincible (4WD low gear box, mud tyres)

near side of river is a steep bank down. assessed river on foot first. relatively firm flat bottom made of sand/pebbles. around 20-25cm max depth but average around 10-15cm. no issues with traction at all. far side of river is steep muddy slope but had dried a fair bit due to lack of rain so decent traction after first 10m or so. no issues getting up. to be honest I expected much worse and this crossing was one of the easiest parts of this route. other bits are far worse.

this is now the main route. didn't even see the other track when it supposedly branched even though Google wanted to take us that way. track is pretty bad but gets worse closer towards the border with Nigeria.

They have a breakfast menu and a real coffee machine!!

Nice, quiet place to spend the day. Bathrooms with flushing toilets. Has a pool with showers (charges a fee I believe), walking paths, tennis and basketball courts. Has a couple parking lots that fit our van. Has some parking along the road inside the park that could accommodate bigger rigs/travel trailers. Good T-Mobile and Verizon cell coverage.

Just before entrance to Brenton State Park is a spot surrounded on 3 sides by brush which is large enough for a few vans. Two porta-pots behind building in state park. Quiet night with Solis van camper. Ocean view. The state park is open 24 hours but has “ No camping” posted.

Good spot for 1 night to take a rest from the road, a bit busy in the evenings, quiets down around 11. Feels safe

there is a new bridge here which is not yet open. the alternative is a small bamboo bridge down to the side of the new one. it is partly damaged, but we were still able to cross. just have to stay over to one side. make sure you are lined up correctly and be careful.

No longer looks rundown. Very nice , small inside has a patio.
Food was excellent
