Beautiful green valley, you'll pass by local villages! Road is unpaved but safe and in a decent condition. 2 whrel drive is perfectly doable

Pemex on Mex 1 between Santa Rosalia and Guerrero Negro. Adding because people/lonely planet told us no gas would be available on this drive.

Free showers at the indoor Richmond City Swimming Pool. No time limit. They said you don't have to pay if you just want to shower. They are communal showers so not much privacy and the lockers can't be locked so leave your valuables in the car.

So happy to have stayed here for 6 nights.

Very nice common area and kitchen. Magnificent temperatures during the day and night. Nice and quiet unless the neighbouring church has some praying session going on. All in all very relaxing and homey travel experience.

Buses to check out San Salvador go every 3min and take 25min.
If you want to do stuff in the area without going down to the city there are nice activities to do.. Mirador, Parque Balboa, Panchimalco, Cerro de Diablo (closed because of renovation at the moment, climbers can still go but will likely have to ask around).

Gustavo comes everyday to work on his and Camilo's mushroom farm every day and it was a pleasure to talk with him will cleaning and classifying the day's harvest with him. We cooked several recipies with the mushrooms. 2.5usd per lbs

We were allowed to do two loads of laundry.

Karen was very attentive and took us the the hospital when my wife had food poisoning.

Mario showed us around San Salvador on the weekend.

Luis Felipe a 76 year old ex-Guerillero and writer lives across the kitchen in a vintage decorated studio.

Two adorable well trained dogs. Barked veey little one of the 6 nights we were there.

Acess road is not on googlemaps. Check little star logo on ioverlander close by to find the steep access road.
Max. 3m height.
Had no issues to get back up with our FWD 1993 VW bus.

BLM, free. No high clearance 4x4 needed. ATT worked well. Deep drainage ditch at gutter, I drove over it parallel rather than perpendicular. There is a bee farm close by so there are A LOT OF BEES. Good spot to stop for the night but I had to leave In The morning do to the swarming bees. Picacho Peak is close by and a great hike.

Nice, quiet area. The sheriff drove by & passed some beach guidelines. You can stay 14 days then you have to leave for 30 days then you can come back for another 14 days. A wonderful area to stay as we have solar panels! lots of sun 🌞!

I asked the shepherd who was here if I could stay at this place overnight. He was very friendly and said no problem. His children came for a visit. Quiet night, just light traffic at Road 13. It's a huge place so you don't have to stay to closed to the road. Could be a problem in wet season. Unitel worked with 4G.

Thank you Fred-971 for your note . We were heading last night to this place and when we got there and read your note we just turned back. Just torture . Don’t deserve our money.

Huge gas station with a Oxxo and bathrooms. First we stoped only to put some gas but it was getting dark so we decided to stay overnight. There were hundreds of trucks on line to put gas as well . I thought I’ll not rest here bc the noise but it was surprisingly quite at night .

I’ve paid camping much much worse than this!
Very quite gas station with very friendly people. They close at night. We asked to employee if it was safe to park overnight and he said:
- “Yes, bc do you see all these houses right there ? These are Marine’s houses. We don’t even need a guard here. They have their own 24 hrs guard there”
So yes I felt very safe lol
Also it has a big grassy area where my dog was playing.
There are warm showers!
Right to my spot was a few outlets just in case you need electricity.
Also water just in the back.
Ask for the WiFi password , very fast.
Small supermarket close at 21:30.

6 dorm room cost 7.500 CFA pn. It really has a hostel atmosphere, which is nice. There are many older Western people also. The place has a good atmosphere and Christine, a French woman who owns the place, is very friendly but also busy. The place is right at the beach and the natural barricade allows you to swim a little without being taken by the strong current. The food and drinks are expensive for backpackers and tour bikers. There are a few streetfood places around.

Went through this border just to visit the dam wall from and if staying in Zambia. The exact location for this immigration is not where these coordinates are, but a few hundred metres before this north. We left our passports with immigration and paid ZMK14 for our vehicle. Signed in at the control gate and drove down to the wall. After checking out the wall we drove back up and picked up our passports. Nothing else required for our vehicle or us personally just to view the dam wall.

Good place for overnight stay. We even did a morning run at 5.30am at the nearby grass field.
Outside shower has cold water only. The toilets are pretty simple and not really clean.
We didnt payed anything when we entered/left the national park and the parking lot.

We walked into the town of Cabo Polonio. Through the forest/ desert.
WiFi near the park office worked, but its an Antel hotspot. That means only 15min free WiFi.
